@ariana785582@roejosenquist@itsnotmyketchup I'm glad you live in one of the places that hasn't had as many roadblocks put in the way of voting as possible but you might want to research this topic a bit more.
@emre_mayo@fiveinchshorts@NickyFrank30 To be progressive means to believe corporate power can and should be fought against, rather than endlessly appeased in hopes they'll punish us less harshly. I won't pretend they're always great in the "real solutions" department, but nobody is. No one will ever make it look easy
@ShitlibSupreme Equating "I don't think he's important" to "defending" should be relegated to bad guys with enough power to represent an existential threat. It's plausible that AOC became more aware of some of Hasan's more indefensible statements since the last time she said anything positive
@Ericrse37986 See, what you want to look for in a candidate to fight this tide of Fascism, is not relatability and ethical policy positions with a fighting attitude, but rather a mutant power that can suck carbon out of the atmosphere on a planetary scale.
@SireRottweiler It's 80/20 "we need to stop funding the Israeli military until they stop the murders" and also 80/20 "Hasan is a terminal crazy dumbass and Dem candidates need to stay away from him". Both seem like very reasonable positions from where I'm sitting?
@Wilson__Valdez As opposed to "you guys realize leftists are playing the same games as everyone else, right?" which seems to me to be the level-headed way of viewing this
@Wilson__Valdez So are you saying that the moderate wing of the party doesn't do this? Or that that's a fundamentally invalid question if you can point to leftists doing it? Just interesting that you're framing this as "the thing leftists and republicans both do"
@SireRottweiler Talarico isn't close enough to the I/P issue that he would feel compelled to do an interview or be caught within the same camera frame as this guy. If you think Talarico will be "sunk" just because Hasan is spending time inside Texas borders, I think that's a big reach.
@Friended4Ever Wanting to get rid of rent-seeking and get rid of the whole incentive of hoarding housing -> "wanting to get rid of all private property" is a bit of a leap
@Contra_Flash Yeah I think a great many things would be very different in a world where a lot of Americans were fans of Mao. Probably too many things for this hypothetical to be useful in making any kind of point about reality.
@cobb_dem@DemNationalist Even if you could do that, it would only last until the next time he has on a right wing guest. Dude doesn't have opinions, he just yaps along with whoever is sitting in the chair across from him.
