A small puzzle. 🇵🇰 hasn't rebased the trade weights in the Real Effective Exchange Rate (REER) for 15+ years — they're still frozen at 2010. Our trade map has been redrawn since.
So: does the stale gauge still tell us the truth about the rupee? 🧵
Nobel Prize winning economist Kenneth Arrow wrote about "learning by doing" decades ago. He knew that productivity and expertise improve through experience.
The messy, repetitive works is often where you learn the patterns that eventually become judgment. Knowledge can be taught, but judgement is built through lived experience.
The first draft you rewrite. The customer call you listen to. The bug you fix and fix again. The factory floor you walk.
Small decisions you make every day teach you judgement. And, judgement is the thing everyone wants from senior people in the workplace. If we automate away every entry-level task without replacing the learning loop, we are removing a part of the process that creates experts.
The goal should be to use AI to accelerate learning, remove friction, and give people better tools to build expertise faster.

Thanks @Fortune & @tbove4 for sharing this story. Link in the comments.
@ansukhera@MiftahIsmail Pain has to be absorbed somewhere. Either the state and its elite absorb it through cuts in waste, perks, privileges, and bad policymaking or ordinary citizens and businesses absorb it through inflation, taxes, unemployment, and stagnation. That’s the real issue.
Good luck to the sponsors. This has been a very successful JV between Pakistan & Chinese. Service Long March Tyres, Pakistan’s largest manufacturer of all-steel radial tires, has filed for an initial public offering next month https://t.co/hOtJ5JRK0e
After a long time decided to fly PIA from KHI to LYP. After boarding the flight has been delayed by almost an hour - to wait for connecting passengers of a flight from Jeddah with hardly an hour of connection time and which even arrived late, knowing the inefficient handling of the @Pk_PAA_Official@PCAA_official Airports. This will trigger a chain of delays in several flights just because of ill planed passenger travel. Apart from several other steps, the new owners of the Airline must consider replacing most of the inefficient and incompetent ground staff of the Airline if they want to turnaround the airline

How Pakistan made the world over 3 trillion dollars richer
On April 7, the world edged toward Trump's 8pm ultimatum that "a whole civilization will die tonight." By mid-afternoon, Polymarket gave less than a 5% chance for a ceasefire. But then in a flurry of last-minute diplomacy led by Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif, ceasefire odds shifted from near-impossibility to 100%, as both U.S. and Iranian leadership publicly acknowledged the important role played by Pakistan.
The sharp shift in probability of ceasefire from near-zero to certainty, allows us to estimate cleanly the market value of Pakistan's successful diplomacy. There was a sharp jump of 2.9% in S&P500 around the ceasefire announcement. The reaction was similar the world over.
Global markets represent about $125T, so a 2.9% jump represents a gain of 3.6 trillion dollars for the world. Pakistan helped create TEN times its own GDP for the world!
For me, the best part is not the trillions of dollar, but seeing Pakistan on the world stage as a peace maker.
I hope Pakistan runs with this new identity by promoting peace not only abroad, but also at home. That means moving away from politics of division and exclusion, and treating every citizen as its own.
Mark Greatbatch - not only changed the course of the 1992 World Cup, he changed the ODI paradigm.🔥
⏩1992 WC : 313 runs at 44.71
@ SR of 88 with 13 SIXES🔥
When have you ever seen Marshall hit for six like that? 😲
- Throughout the 1992 World Cup, Greatbatch went hammer and tongs at opposition attacks, and was one of the key reasons why New Zealand reached the semi-final of the tournament.
- Without Greatbatch, there was no Sanath Jayasuriya and Romesh Kaluwitharana; there was no Virender Sehwag or Adam Gilchrist. Sure, there had been top-order dashers in the past - Kris Srikkanth and Gordon Greenidge spring to mind - but never had anybody been sent out with such murderous intent.
