President @realDonaldTrump will go down in history as one of the greatest and most consequential presidents we have ever had.
His ability and willingness to make bold and consequential decisions for the benefit of future generations based on the hard and cold facts at hand rather than short-term political considerations is one of his greatest strengths.
No longer are we governed by the politics of the weak who have brought us close to the edge with their weakness and self-interested short-termism.
God bless our nation, our military, and our president. Let’s all pray for our troops who risk their lives on behalf of all of us so we can look forward to a world where evil is eliminated and good prevails.
What we do in life echoes in eternity.
Run a faster 5k.
Run a slow 3k. Sprint a 5k. Push a 10k when exhausted. Run every 2-3 days. Hit a 5k in 30 minutes. Run daily. Learn to take breaks. Run through sniffles. Track everything — splits, pace, heart rate, HRV, VO2. Learn the lingo: cadence, pronation, plyometrics. Believe you’ll blaze a faster 5k. Pick a route and run it hundreds of times. Dream of a 20-minute 5k. Run at dawn, swim at noon, lift in the afternoon and stretch at dusk. See your VO2 max get a +1 every few weeks.
Follow the rules, then break them. Get banged up, learn to heal. Recover too slow, recover too fast. Perfect your form, boost speed, run smarter. Test supplements, grab some carbon-plated shoes. Begin to implement more of @bryan_johnson protocol.
A clear attainable goal over a 6 months period will get you in a flywheel of training, improved sleep, improved food and focused motivation. Skimming those seconds need everything from you.
One day, you’ll smash 20 minutes. Your VO2 max will be higher then all your friends, you'll lift a lot, you'll jump higher. You’ll hit 19 minutes quickly after and maybe think to chase 18 over the next years. It won't matter anymore, the flywheel is there. That first 20-minute 5k? Unforgettable. It's such a fleeting target but the fire it ignites lasts.
P.S. Some say do a marathon or an ironman, imo the 5k keeps you sharper and injury-light.
Here’s the full, no-nonsense list of phrases that drive me nuts - because they’re misleading, fear-mongering, or just plain wrong:
Natural. As if nature guarantees safety. Cyanide is natural too.
Organic. A marketing label, not a health guarantee.
Bio-Sourced. A fancy way to say "comes from a plant," as if that makes it superior.
Boosts your immune system. No, it doesn’t. If it did, you’d be in the hospital with an autoimmune disorder.
Anything "free from" something. Usually a scare tactic. Free from logic, maybe?
Toxin-free. Everything is toxic at the right dose. Water can kill you too.
Chemical-free. This one is peak stupidity. Everything is chemicals, including you.
Clean beauty. What does that even mean? Are other products "dirty"?
Non-GMO. Science denial in a label. GMOs have saved lives.
Holistic. Often just a placeholder for "We don’t have evidence, but trust us."
Superfood. A marketing gimmick. There’s no such thing as a single magic food.
Detox. Your liver and kidneys do that. Stop falling for expensive snake oil.
Non-toxic. Meaningless. The dose makes the poison.
Made with real ingredients. As opposed to fake ones? What does this even mean?
Wholesome. Vague nonsense designed to make you feel good about buying something.
These phrases survive because they sound nice and sell products. But let’s be clear: they’re designed to manipulate, not inform.
All of Trump’s policy videos look like Red Alert cinematics from some fictional hyper patriotic American dictatorship. It’s honestly awesome, I could watch him talk directly at me for four hours straight. It’s incredible kino, especially considering that this particular video is the equivalent of an apocalyptic dystopian announcement to any tranny who might be watching. It’s the closest thing to any actual feeling of total state mandated obliteration any group of people will ever get to feel, it must be such a rush. The legitimate sensation of being hunted by Skynet or announced in a free for fall purge event, and you had to cut your dick off to get to experience it.
For decades I suffered psychological pain because the most powerful flying object ever built was a decade in the past, two, three … half a CENTURY in the past … longer than from the Sopwith Camel to Saturn V, and now finally SpaceX has eased that pain. Thank you.
China is panicking.
In fact, China is showing 2008-like signs as they are on the brink of a severe recession.
Over the last 2 days, China has begun Pandemic-level stimulus, as seen during lockdowns in 2020.
Is China dragging the global economy into a recession?
(a thread)
Bureaucrat mode:
- create committees for every decision
- make sure every meeting has pre-meetings to build the papers/deck for the meeting
- end every meeting by expanding the scope of the project
- no one ever owns a decision, so make sure there's complete consensus. Create more meetings if needed
- punish anyone showing initiative
- discipline anyone who moves quickly without complete consensus
- require detailed status reports before any progress
- create complex approval workflows for trivial tasks
- celebrate vanity metrics and milestones
- reward people based on "impact" based on how may people are working on your projects
- ask legal, brand, compliance to approve everything no mattery how small
- talk endlessly about downside risk
... what else?
This speech is deeply underrated!
It's a masterful articulation of how we often can't justify our real reasons for doing great things through cost-benefit analyses or reason.
Often they're not even acceptable to say out loud because they seem childish or naive.
