@SoVeryBritish Find it hard to believe as most people would ask "Is this the queue for...?", unless you didn't get a response, shrugged your shoulders and joined anyway.
@Support Can the Following > Sort by Recent actually show me posts in most recent order please? I'm currently seeing 1m, 5m, 9hr, 1hr, 10m as the timestamps (not including reposts etc). It should be fairly easy to do "ORDER BY date DESC".
Having said that (& after seeing the demo at Build), they could serve as new categories for consumers and dominate the market if they wanted. The small credit card device, with ear buds, could replace a phone? The apps on it would connect to CoPilot to work.
Project Solara is Microsoft's vision for the future of computing: An agentic platform that exists in your pocket or on your person, at a desk, and in the cloud.
After Windows Phone, Microsoft is eager to get ahead of the next paradigm shift in computing, and it's betting big on an agentic hardware and software future.
Microsoft is already working towards this future, building out a new, lightweight and secure OS on top of AOSP, not Windows, that it calls the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP.)
The company has prototyped two devices, a "badge concept" and "desk concept," the first of which can fit in your pocket or be worn like a badge, and the other that takes the form of an Alexa-like device with a screen.
Microsoft is diving head first into this growing new market as it's one of the few areas that don't require an expansive app catalog to be successful. The downfall of Windows Phone was the lack of apps, but that shouldn't be a problem for an agentic platform like MDEP, utilizing a just-in-time UI framework. https://t.co/WswioXromj
Microsoft say they are looking at fixing Windows 11. They have a lot to do and have lost a lot of trust. (Years ago Satya said he wanted people to "love Windows" again after they decided to put more effort in). They had lost it then and are losing it again now (if not completely)
Encountered a bug with Windows 11 that no matter what you do (using UI in Explorer, Powershell scripts) it always groups sub-folders. CoPilot advised me to use a different folder (create a C:\File folder). I think I should switch to an operating system that works!
This chart is bonkers.
I think there's two possible explanations for why the UK runs so far ahead of other European countries โ neither of them good. And the annual April jump speaks to a wider issue. For more detail, see my column in this weekend's Observer (link below).
@zacbowden Maybe they have data on when to do the best product launches for business and consumer, or maybe now is not the right time for a consumer launch due to higher prices. If prices come down later in the year, consumers are more likely to buy.
So @ChrisMasonBBC on @BBCNews 6 o'clock news said there will be a new Prime Minister soon. Next news item, IMF says the UK growth forecast is up! So country is doing better but the BBC and general media want a new Prime Minister.
.@nationalhways Not sure smart motorways are a good idea. Passed 2 cars stopped in left lane on M1 near junction 33. Nothing on overhead gantries. Hopefully no one will get hurt! I thought you had cameras to spot this kind of thing?!
.@VisualStudio The editor in Visual Studio 2026 is unbearable, almost unusable, when copy and pasting from another source. How on earth did this get through testing...?
@claudeai@dotnet Have given same php project to @OpenAI. Let's see what it can make of it.
Interestingly, rather than compile the project immediately it told me to come back in 20 minutes. Never had that before!
