@malcolmguite saw a clip of an interview with you. I want to share this poem I wrote:
Choose me dear Master,
Blessed smoldering abyss,
Door to my heaven.
Sacred seat have I,
Miracle of fire within,
My hollow altar.
Come thou chosen pinch,
You shall sublime this moment,
Your end in my joy.
@elonmusk@Not_the_Bee True for finite beings who need to conserve, but this doesn't apply to divine creation. God doesn't observe (passive), He speaks from His infinite creative power. Then we observe it more or less.
@HonestYPTweets you know he lacked self control? what would you say if he said every action was fully intentional? what would a self-controlled version of this look like?
@DailyLoud this isn't a violence/peace situation. it's communication. it's the only effective form of communication for some people. well said, pastor.
rules and reality. a book exploring the psychological effects of a life engaged with the real world (eg physics, market, engineering) vs a life engaged with rules (a bureaucrat). short anecdote: went to a national park. i have the free pass because i have a 4th grader. forgot the pass at home, told the worker we have a pass and showed her my 4th grader, and the form we had filled out for it, that i previously showed to get issued the free pass. worker would not let us in. we "have" the pass, and the reason for the pass (the 4th grader), but not the actual pass. i cannot imagine turning a person like me away. rule following vs reality following. i want to explore this more deeply.
