Morning routine of elite runner: Wake up, down water, eat a banana, sip coffee, go to the bathroom, go run.
Morning routine of bro cosplaying "elite": Cold plunge, nasal breathing exercise, supplement stack, meticulous nonsense, no time for full workout because they wasted it.
Routines are great.
But they are supposed to support doing the thing…not become the thing in and of itself.
I’ve read some great books over the last few months and wanted to share some of my favorites. Let me know if you have any recommendations for books I should check out!
Burnout has little to do with how many hours you work. It stems from doing tedious tasks in systems that grant you no autonomy, toward goals you don’t really care about, with little or no sense of belonging.
I think a big problem in the world of health and performance is you get people who are truly world class at marketing and whose primary goal is growth and popularity completely overshadowing those who actually know what they are talking about.
I am always shocked at the number of bizarre things people do to "optimize" their health and longevity and yet they don't exercise regularly, sleep 7-9 hours, eat fruits and veggies, build intimate bonds and community, or ever relax.
They obsess over the 0.1% but not the 99.9%.
@iamireneyu Man, I looked at this the DAY I went in to labor and it will be the first thing I check out after mat leave! When those visuals get added, they should easily export straight to FigJam too :)
What should we call our team, and what should the logo be?
Men: Nets <caveman grunts> cuz ball go in net. Sound good with Mets and Jets. Draw B on ball.
Women:

(Excited to be a Valkyries fan!)
Sabrina hitting the exact score that Dame won with, losing to Steph, and the immediate commentary being “welp, she should’ve shot from the women’s line 🤷♂️” pretty much sums up our experience if ya’ll are wondering 😂
