@Number10cat@1Chillwind But his Grandmother lived in a village near Thrapston in Northamptonshire called Islip... which also was the birthplace of a Mayor of New York, hence a town in New Jersey with the same name...
@scottiebateman My Dad did a couple of holidays only because of the aircraft flying the route, one was to the Caribbean to fly on the last transatlantic DC8, another was to Libya to get a 747SP in the logbook, there were probably others too
@EricWelch42 With a couple of dayglo arrow stickers on you could do speed/distance/time/range calculations quicker than on a calculator, doesn't run out of batteries and you can read it at night in the back of a big green helicopter
@DPD_UK_Support_ can you please train your drivers in actuallt going to a front door and using the doorbell??? Sent a photo from halfway down our drive (full of cars, so we were all in)
Same driver tried to deliver to a derelict barn 3 times last week, unbelievable!!!
@skytv on what planet do you think a 60% increase in subscription is going to drive customer loyalty?
And why make it so difficult to leave? Giving up almost an hour of our time on the phone whilst an incompetent flaps around
Subscription cancelled
@BlickyIan When I was on Wessex we'd normally operate at 100-200' but if we heard a C130 or A10 Warthog enter the LFA, we'd get down to 50' and fly a constant s with me hanging out the door watching behind as they'd always break the 250' fixed wing hard deck
@TalkTalk there is an irony that you can't actually talk to @TalkTalk on a Sunday even though they say their call centre is open... trying to deal with a family bereavement and sort accounts and bills out and this is not helping!!
@Longreach_LAV@BlickyIan They were dead easy to fly when travelling at 90 it's, but as soon as you got into the hover it was like skateboarding on beach ball! Did my Crewman training on the mighty Wessex and have now made a Wessex Bass Guitar using some parts and a cabin strap!
@MichelleDewbs I got suspended (in the '80s) for wearing an anti-CND t shirt, I saw the Head & argued that if my teachers can wear CND and Labour/SDP badges then why can't the pupils wear political insignia too? The result was that the teachers got banned from wearing political insignia!
@BlickyIan On Cadet camp at Binbrook in '83 I spent a day in 5 Sqn's hangar. I 'helped' fit the top engine to an aircraft- they used a frame with a moveable pivot point as the engines had grown bigger than the hatch so had to go in one end first, slid forward and then drop the rear end
@chinnychick My parents would get annoying Wasps at their barbecues (neighbour had a collection of Naval aircraft and would commute in the Wasp from Hertfordshire to North Weald) https://t.co/T838YD9aoh
