The Aerolamp DevKit
A 222nm Far UVC lamp designed to kill germs in any indoor space where people gather

Misha and Viv just got back from Halifax for the International Ultraviolet Association conference, which was a gathering of the folks who work on UV treatment for water, air, and surfaces.
We also had the chance to attend ICFUST this year, which is specific for FAR UV at the 200-235 nm range (222 nm target). If you're curious about the latest happenings with germicidal far-UVC, @UVMedico shared a helpful summary here: https://t.co/7zPenGmxiX
Classrooms are at the VERY top of our list of where we think far-UVC should be installed first. That is where contagious illness spreads the most and where far-UVC, like Aerolamp, can be the most impactful.
@drethelin and @vivian_belenky installed two Aerolamps each in multiple classrooms at Springwell School, including the one @IleanaAlmog teaches in. (You don't actually need a CEO and lead scientist to come to your classroom and install these for you, we promise they're very simple to wall-mount!)
We have Aerolamps in our homes, too, but if you want our answer on where pathogens are circulating the most and could be stopped before they spread further into the community, schools are it!
IUVA folks — come say hi! Also, @vivian_belenky is on at 9:40 am Monday in room 307 (topic: Illuminate: From Research Prototype to Interactive GUV Design Platform). @drethelin is talking on Wed. in the McInnes Room at 9:40 about Aerolamp: An Open-Source, Low-Cost Far-UVC Platform for Researchers and Communities.
@nonagonono -If you don’t need a pitch black room, yes, the lamp light is probably dim enough that it won’t bother you overnight, especially if it’s not in your line of sight.
-We’d love to see what you did - feel free to open a pull request at https://t.co/YULNISWX00
"Let There Be Germicidal Light: This "$500 Fixture Could Stop the Next Pandemic," we joined @patio11 on the Complex Systems podcast and shared all about far-UVC germicidal light, its safety, evidence for reducing airborne pathogens, and why low-cost fixtures are not widely used.

@ICUgaslite I take a lot meetings in my office a lot at work, I have a luggable XL that runs and is near silent. I also have a @aerolamp mounted up high on a shelf.
Schools are at the top of our wishlist for where we think far-UVC should be installed because of how much illness is spread in those buildings and how poor the air quality usually is.

Getting doctors to pick up the habit of handwashing is somewhat similar to the paradigm shift required to convince the medical community to focus on what’s in the air.

Why isn’t this game-changing technology everywhere? Hear (or read) the entire conversation between Patrick, Misha, and Vivian at https://t.co/LIjsIp5lzQ
Far-UVC is an incredibly fast and powerful air-cleaning tool. You might think it's all you need since it can equal the pathogen-killing speed of six average purifiers. But it's important to remember a multi-layered approach is ideal. Not only do other tools provide filtration and ventilation, but they also enhance what the Aerolamp is doing in a space by helping to mix the room and eliminate "hot spots." #purifiers #faruvc #222nm #indoorairquality https://t.co/H3gLunXhmB
Complex Systems this week is with the CEO and lead scientist of AeroLamp, about the science behind UVC (germicidal light), what remains to be solved to unblock adoption, and what sort of curves we can expect for impact, deployment, and cost.
