URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP.
DEAR EVERYONE,
We humbly appeal to kind-hearted individuals, organizations, and members of the public to come to the aid of this young widow and her three children.
During the holy month of Ramadan, while preparing Sahoor for her family, a pot of hot water accidentally poured on her arm, causing a severe burn injury. What started as a painful accident has become a prolonged struggle because she could not afford proper medical treatment and wound care. As a result, the wound has worsened, leaving her in constant pain and making it difficult for her to work and provide for her children.
This mother is raising three children alone after the loss of her husband. Sadly, despite the existence of family farmland and other shared properties that her late husband had with his siblings that could have helped support her and her children, she has been denied access to these resources, this happened because she refused pressure from the family of her late husband to remarry her late husband’s stepbrother.
This situation is even more sad and heartbreaking because her husband also died from fire accident complications.
Today, she faces two urgent challenges:
Medical treatment and wound care to help her recover and heal properly.
Financial support to start a small business or employment so she can provide food, education, and basic necessities for her three children and regain her independence.
I have been the only one taking care of her since her husband demise last year, it became more intense and too much on me when the fire accident happened and I cannot continue doing this alone.
Her hand is getting so bad, the smell is so bad too that I had to hold my breath to take these pictures with her. And I want to do everything possible I can do for her before I leave Nigeria back to the UK.
No amount is too small. Every contribution will make a meaningful difference in helping this widow rebuild her life and secure a better future for her children.
We sincerely appeal to everyone to show compassion and extend a helping hand during this difficult time.

Today, I witnessed something that truly broke me.
I saw a woman, clearly struggling mentally holding her baby by the roadside.
That baby couldn’t have been more than 9 or 10 months old. So small. So vulnerable. So unaware of the world they’ve been born into.
Maybe if I hadn’t become a mother, I would have whispered a quick prayer and driven on. But motherhood has a way of opening your heart in places you didn’t even know existed. It changes how you see everything.
I couldn’t move.
I had to pull over because the weight of what I was seeing became too much to carry while driving. I sat there and bawled my eyes out. Not just for that woman, but for her child… for their reality.
Then I turned and looked at my own baby sitting safely in the back seat. In that instant, I saw two completely different worlds side by side. Same innocence. Same dependence. Same need for love and protection. But entirely different circumstances. And it broke me even more.
Sometimes, it takes being in a certain position, a shared experience, a personal connection for the weight of another person’s reality to truly hit you.
Today humbled me.
I said a prayer for her. For strength. For protection. For mercy.
And I’m holding my baby a little closer tonight.

I read her story on TikTok. She was a beautiful lady, nothing was wrong with her before pregnancy.
She got pregnant and had a child, and suddenly, she couldn’t see with her eyes again, and next thing, tumour in her brain, all of this happened postpartum.
I’ve said it before (check my page) and I’ll say it again, I’m so scared of the evil that pregnancy and childbirth are capable of doing to women’s life.
Pregnancy and childbirth will forever be a life threatening condition to me, and you don’t necessarily have to agree.
Lastly, to those men who said they’ll abandoned their wife who’s in labour to go and stay with their friend that got shot in hospital, ẹyin nu, ọlọhun nu.

Muslim sisters in ib, if you’re looking for a female only salon, there’s a new hair salon called The Muslimah Beauty Lounge around Oje/Gate road. They do henna, manicure and pedicure too. I was there recently and their service is great.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"You see the believers in their mercy, love, and compassion for one another like a single body. When one part of the body suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever."
As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, many of us are concerned about our Eid clothes being ready, filling our fridges with food, and buying gifts for our children so they can celebrate with happiness. Yet, many indigent Muslims are worried about something far more basic—what they will eat on the day of Eid.
Our brothers and sisters who are in dire need are part of this Ummah, and their hardship should move our hearts to act. This is why Zakat-ul-Fitri was prescribed—so the poor and vulnerable can share in the joy and dignity of Eid.
Your Zakat-ul-Fitri can be a lifesaver for families who have nothing to prepare for the blessed day. We humbly seek your support to ensure that as many indigent Muslims as possible have food on their tables and a reason to smile on Eid day.
Kindly entrust us with your Zakat and Zakat-ul-Fitri, and we will ensure it reaches the most vulnerable members of the Ummah.
May Allah (SWT) accept our fast, dua, supplications, our charity, purify our wealth, watch over us, grant us the best, and reward us all abundantly for bringing relief to those in dire need. [Ameen] 🤲🌙✨
