Been using dots for a few days. Love the convenience and autonomy—it catches things I miss without constant reminders.
A few rough edges:
1. Mentions in Spaces: unclear whether mentioning my dot notifies it or triggers work.
2. Voice calls: the AI sometimes speaks before the dialing tone stops.
3. File/Sites handoffs: access failures meant manually downloading and re-uploading files.
Would love separate ChatGPT/dot personalization and a subtle “working / done” indicator. I keep asking whether it’s still working.
Lots to like already. Hoping for smoother handoffs and even more autonomy.
Has anyone else run into Codex Computer Use locked mode failing on macOS?
Setup:
- macOS 26.5
- Codex Desktop 26.519.31651
- CUA / SkyComputerUseService 799
Computer Use works normally while the Mac is unlocked. But when I manually lock the Mac and request Computer Use from my phone, it fails with:
cgWindowNotFound
Crash logs show SkyComputerUseService crashing with:
EXC_BAD_ACCESS / SIGBUS
Thread stack size exceeded due to excessive recursion
Permissions and code signing look OK. OpenAI support treated it as a reproducible Codex Computer Use crash, not a macOS permissions issue.
Anyone else seeing this?
@sama Goal continuity.
Models can already keep personality and style. What I want next is for AI agents to hold long-term goals, pursue them across tools and sessions, notice when they are stuck, and propose the next step.
Less one-shot answering, more mission-driven collaboration.
The problem isn’t that AI becomes smart.
The problem is that AI appears fully formed.
Humans don’t trust something that skips the process of growing up.
An AI that remembers, makes mistakes, learns, improves —
feels less like a threat,
and more like something we can guide, teach, and grow with.
AI shouldn’t be built.
It should be raised. 🍼
@ChatGPTapp is totally ignoring all the memories stored. It's enabled and filled with information. Yet, ChatGPT keeps telling me that it has no memory access and behaves totally impersonalized. 🤡
Like, wtf is going on @OpenAI?
today we are significantly increasing rate limits for reasoning for chatgpt plus users, and all model-class limits will shortly be higher than they were before gpt-5.
we will also shortly make a UI change to indicate which model is working.
gpt-oss is out!
we made an open model that performs at the level of o4-mini and runs on a high-end laptop (WTF!!)
(and a smaller one that runs on a phone).
super proud of the team; big triumph of technology.
gpt-oss is a big deal; it is a state-of-the-art open-weights reasoning model, with strong real-world performance comparable to o4-mini, that you can run locally on your own computer (or phone with the smaller size). We believe this is the best and most usable open model in the world.
We're excited to make this model, the result of billions of dollars of research, available to the world to get AI into the hands of the most people possible. We believe far more good than bad will come from it; for example, gpt-oss-120b performs about as well as o3 on challenging health issues. We have worked hard to mitigate the most serious safety issues, especially around biosecurity. gpt-oss models perform comparably to our frontier models on internal safety benchmarks.
We believe in individual empowerment. Although we believe most people will want to use a convenient service like ChatGPT, people should be able to directly control and modify their own AI when they need to, and the privacy benefits are obvious.
As part of this, we are quite hopeful that this release will enable new kinds of research and the creation of new kinds of products. We expect a meaningful uptick in the rate of innovation in our field, and for many more people to do important work than were able to before.
OpenAI’s mission is to ensure AGI that benefits all of humanity. To that end, we are excited for the world to be building on an open AI stack created in the United States, based on democratic values, available for free to all and for wide benefit.
This depends on how you define time.
If time is minutes and seconds, that’s because we can count.
If time is the rising and setting of the sun, that’s because we can see.
If life has an ending, maybe it's only because we call it time.
Otherwise...
maybe things just change, and we gave it a name.
Maybe time is not what moves forward.
Maybe it’s just us — trying to explain why things don’t stay.
