@NateSilver538 …which have also been less extreme in their polarization than right-wing media, academics, and other “unelected elite institutions.”
Hope this helps!
@blz314@xenocryptsite Hell yeah! Love that movie and have rewatched it probably a dozen times. Better deprecation of war than Hurt Locker even though it’s obviously fiction & not the sole focus of the movie.
@JaMikeyMike@Noahpinion This! I really want to see rooftop solar become a status symbol. People need to flex that they have it and subtly imply that other people should get it just like with shoes or cars or bags or watches.
@xenocryptsite I (a veteran) HATED Hurt Locker and was so mad it won best picture over Avatar, Up in the Air and Inglorious Basterds.
It’s not a good movie about war, it’s just not!
@Jack_Raines Can confirm this worked great for me. My wife & I got married the same week we graduated from college. It was very equitable because we both had hot, fresh degrees & absolutely nothing else! Still married 16.5 years later and everything is "ours," always has been, always will be.
@Fuller1776@jeremykauffman Counterpoint, as a certified 🌐 I am working hard to usher in a new era of energy abundance with prolific renewables & modern nuclear power.
The solar panels on my roof provide clean, abundant energy that make my home more independent and resilient than 69% of preppers out there
@drvolts @Silvio_Marcacci I mean you asked for a rec & you got a good one!
You didn’t say, “I’m looking to have a female expert in XX,” so if the recommendation *were* a man, what would the issue be?
And then you next-level played yourself by assuming Brady was a man.
Congratulations all around 😅
@AlecStapp So every PSA about “uNpLuG yOuR pHoNe ChArGeR” was more than a waste, it was a lie.
Switching all appliances to electric (including cars) and keeping the inside temp a bit warmer in the summer is a massive shift in fossil fuel usage at home.
Everything else rounds to about zero
@AlecStapp Once I got my solar panels + powerwall system I really saw what moved the needle.
The *only* things that matter are:
1. EV charging (duh)
2. HVAC AC compressor
3. Anything using electricity to produce heat (dryer, convection oven, space heater)
Everything else rounds to zero.
@AlecStapp I literally had the Tesla app open watching my live home power consumption as I turned stuff on and off.
LED lights: nothing
Dishwasher: negligible
Charging my laptop: negligible
LED TV: nothing
Base load of the house is like 1kW per hour and none of those things mattered much
