My beef here is that I've never heard (which is not me saying it doesn't happen) people make the argument like this. When I talk blank-per-dollars spent, it's not measured in hours, it's measured in enjoyment.
And it's not to denote whether or not I *will* buy something 1/6

One of the most common things that people will use as a measurement of game value is hours per dollar. Obviously, a shorter game should cost less than a longer game, right? A $20 game with 30 hours of content vs one with 10, the choice seems obvious. Or so you would think...

And anecdotally, when speaking with friends it seems that's something of a normal way to approach it; even if among those friends we do get into the weeds of numbers, that's because nuance exists among intimate spaces, not the open forum of internet bullshittery. 6/6

I look at how much I enjoyed a game so I know if I made the right call getting it. I can't un-purchase the game (usually) but I can decide against future purchases of similar games, or games from the same people. 5/6
