A little girl cries to her father — “the Taliban closed my school today and told us not to come back.”
Her father consoles her and said he will teach her at home but she says she wants to go to school.
This is Afghanistan in 2022. What a tragedy.
As a father to daughters, I cannot imagine a world in which they’re denied an education.
The women of Afghanistan have so much to offer. Denying them access to university is a grave step backwards.
The world is watching. We will judge the Taliban by their actions.
So after almost 17 months of banning teenage girls from school. The Taliban decide to BAN women from universities too.
Afghanistan is the ONLY country in the world that bans women and girls from going to school & university.
This is a crime against humanity & it must not stand.
A shameful decision by the Taliban as they have just announced the Closure of universities for female students.
The letter from their ministry of higher education states that all universities in Afghanistan will remain closed for women until further notice.
