The same hospital that ignored my father's pain & pushed him out-I never saw him again. Failure to understand the institutionalization of racism in medicine will continue to leave Black daughters without their father's.
Daycare closed for COVID. My out of office message: I will be unable to attend meetings/answer emails as the US has systematically failed to protect young children and working parents. I will respond when my child is vaccine eligible, which may not be until 2023. #WomenInMedicine
As @ReproResearcher says, colorblind policies aren't neutral, they actually widen racial inequities. MN should follow FDA guidance that race/ethnicity be considered along with underlying medical conditions when prioritizing monoclonal antibody treatment.

Best wishes to @AllysonFelix as she competes in her fifth Olympic Games in Tokyo. We are grateful for her partnership and support of our CDC #HearHer campaign (https://t.co/uRJX5ohr1y), as well as her work to advance maternal health โ sheโs a true champion on and off the track ๐
The world is better off because of the work of this amazing scholar, Dr. @BrittneyButler_ , who is leading critical research on racism and pregnancy complications. Thank you for you all you do and CONGRATULATIONS, Dr. Butler! ๐๐๐ฅ
I told myself I was coming back to Twitter as Dr. Butler. WELP!! Here we go!
Dr. Butler has entered the chat! So thankful for all the love and support from my family and mentors.
Legislating in a pandemic, with the realities of systemic racism, & divided government is hard. There were many heartbreaking losses this session. This thread highlights the bills I chief authored that were signed into law. Starting with the Dignity in Pregnancy & Childbirth Act.
This has been one of my favorite bills since @Morrison4MN first presented it in HHS Policy when I was working on that committee in 2019. I could not be happier that it's finally passing this year. Thank you @Morrison4MN for your leadership on this! #mnleg
Proud that my bill to exempt providers of prenatal care from being mandatory reporters of women who use substances during their pregnancy passed this year. They need care from providers, not punishment. #HealthyMomsHealthyBabies#ForAHealthyThrivingMinnesota
@madelinesgreene Hey neighbor! Please do! I didn't realize how much I was missing in my life by not being Twitter-connected to you but glad that has now changed!๐
Thanks to State Sen. @AricForMN's leadership in passing #HungerFreeCampus in Minnesota, countless students will get the resources they need to thrive in college and ultimately graduate ๐
Thank you Sen. Putnam for standing up for and prioritizing today's students ๐
