New Year data point: of the 2,375 bills filed in the Texas Legislature for the 89th session, the majority (1,224) have been filed by the minority party (Democrats).

This is a 50% increase over the previous session, which had 1,538 bills filed before the first of the year.

As I've talked with my Republican and Democrat colleagues who support Dustin Burrows, a constant refrain is that they like his "leadership experience."

I realize I'm new here, but the leadership I've seen from him includes: a Republican caucus walkout, lying to Rs and Ds about "having the votes," partially fabricating a supporter list, and now allegedly spying on the Democrat caucus.

Is this really the type of leadership they want in the Speaker's chair?

LIBERALS LIE: I have a new name for @Burrows4TX it’s Dishonest Dustin. Dustin Burrows killed the bill that would’ve stopped minors from being sexually transitioned. He is not honest with Texans. He is now being backed by all the LQBTQ mafia. David Cook is committed to the compact with Texans, and to allowing members to make their own decisions for their district. Dustin Burrows was the person who killed every conservative bill in calendars for Drunk Dade. Dustin wants to distract from the fact that he walked out of the GOP Caucus like a baby Stompin' his feet and partnered with the Democrats to sell out Texas. If you ask @JeffYoungerShow who killed the bill that would have stopped Children from being transitioned in Texas, He would tell you, and has told you, it was Dustin Burrows. Dustin needs to stop lying and protecting these liberal Democrats. He’s going to allow the Democrat chairman to control this state. The bottom line, the Republicans in the House made a deal to support the Republican nominee out of the GOP Caucus and Dustin Burrows didn’t like that he lost. Now Dustin is running negative smear campaigns to discredit David Cook to avoid exposing his betrayal to Texans. By the way, most of you realize that the Speaker himself rarely votes and David Cook is the only candidate not selling Texas out by appointing Democrat Chairman.
