It's completely reasonable to enforce borders and immigration law. Literally every country ever has done that.
I know some people don't want any enforcement at all right now. I disagree with them.
I know others are fine with an enforcement-at-any-cost approach. I also disagree with them.
Both mentalities are un-shrewd and threaten the rule of law, civil liberties, and the general well-being of the country.

Update on the @Gemini debacle:

My previous tweet started trending yesterday. Magically within 24 hrs, my Gemini account was unlocked, and I have a personal apology from the head of operations in my email inbox. I was also informed:

“As a one-time gesture of goodwill, Gemini will waive all trading fees for the next six months. This will be updated in our system tonight to run between December 24, 2025-June 30, 2026.”

I don’t want a gesture of goodwill. I just wanted my money.

My point still stands. I don’t recommend Gemini. I’m about 99% certain I got preferential treatment because I can make a PR issue for them. If I were an average person, I’m confident my account would still be locked.

I’m completely against the 50-year mortgage idea, it’s insane. Housing prices are already ridiculous, and people have largely stopped buying. That should force sellers to lower prices, simple supply and demand. But a 50-year mortgage is just a clever way to sidestep that reality by preying on financially illiterate buyers who only look at the monthly payment instead of the total cost.

A 50-year mortgage doesn’t make you a homeowner. It makes you a glorified renter who’s responsible for all the repairs and upkeep. Please don’t fall for it. And remember, all the “experts” pushing this idea make their living off real estate, so of course they think it’s a good thing — it makes them more money, not you.
