@joeschwarten This is a bullshit take, and it’s obvious to everyone who’s had to deal with the overly aggressive panhandlers and drug addicts on the square. The police won’t even take most reports down there, it’s every man for him/herself
@alphafox They also charged 15k for this deck. Prime example of why I DIY most of my own work, too many hacks and the skills really aren’t that difficult
@NYMag AI can get away with it...when editors have the "soft bigotry of low expectations" and the think tropes and pseudo-profundity are actually poetic because the identity of the author (and or setting -- Trinidad) fits their ideological / virtue signalling needs.
@ThatsMauvelous One thing that doesn’t get captured in the FIRE conversation is how dumb corporate life has become. If I have to explain continually explain the tech to our DEI PM, that’s going to be an ASAP exit
@aethaeus@kitten_beloved Yeah, that’s just not going to happen. Real CAD models that need dimensioning are not going to come from prompts due to how language is structured. You would need paragraph+ descriptions even for basic objects to be properly constrained, not even considered curves or organic
@AMurderOfDucks @byte_thrasher Don’t buy crap tools. My set of dewalt drills and impacts has been beat on for the past 10 years and they are still going strong. The batteries give out before the tool breaks
@optoio@eevblog Bro I just want some cheap metric fasteners. No one in the US is remotely close on cost to what you could get them for from China. Glad I stocked up when I did
@shpetim@Xaraphim People love to shit on the German autos, and they do have some goofs, but I’ve generally been impressed with the mechanical designs on my Mercedes and VW
