Four months ago, I received a call:
“Pastor, one of your boys has been arrested. He’s at the police cell.”

After asking around, I discovered it was LK, popularly called Amacula, a brilliant young man in his late twenties. He left home as a teenager and had survived on the streets ever since, doing whatever his hands found to do. One Sunday, he wandered into our church under the bridge and became part of our community.

God had begun a slow work in him, reshaping, tempering, softening a man hardened by life. Some biblical teachings confronted him deeply, and he struggled with them, yet he kept coming back to learn. “A bruised reed He will not break” (Isaiah 42:3).

One Sunday while I was teaching, I noticed he was distracted. When our eyes met, he gestured, asking to step out briefly. He said, “Pastor, e jo, mo’n bo…”. I told the person beside me, “He’s going to fight.” And he did—beat someone up—and then returned to church, sat down quietly, and said, “Pastor, e jo, e ma binu.”

I was torn. How does a man fight and then return to sit under the Word so calmly?

Yet that was him, still raw, still unrefined, but already being worked on by God.
He had a strong sense of justice. He defended the defenseless, fought for the oppressed, and stood firmly for what he believed was right, though his methods were still being redeemed. “The zeal of your house has consumed me” (Psalm 69:9), though not yet according to knowledge.

When I heard of his arrest, I went to see him. No one else could, many of the brethren had past issues with the police in that area. By the time I arrived, he had been moved from the station to court, then to another court. I finally found him moments before his trial.

He pleaded not guilty, and his journey into prison began.
For four months, he was there, no father, no mother, no relatives. Only the church.
We prayed. We visited. We stood by him. “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them” (Hebrews 13:3).

And now, to the glory of God, he has been released.
Many of these men are hardened on the outside, but inwardly they are simply lost.

A simple message, “Jesus loves you”, can break even the toughest heart. “The Word of God is living and powerful” (Hebrews 4:12).

Go and tell everyone that Jesus saves. You may only be planting a seed, but God gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6).

Last year, the Lord did mighty works on the streets among souls battered by life.

This year, we go even harder for Jesus.

“The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).

If your teenage son impregnates a teenage girl, you should hold that your son to account.

He must go through the same reality that the girl is forced into and you are not to protect him. You are not to shield him.

If that girl has to pause her education, that boy must pause his as well. If she has to attend antenatal appointments, he must go with her.

If she has to get a job to support her child, he must do the same. Adult actions have adult consequences, and your son must carry them too.

We need to stop excusing and covering up male wrongdoing.
It is rotting the society from the inside out.
The level of permissiveness is bad.

While we are raising girls to be cautious and responsible, we are raising boys to be defended no matter how harmful their behaviour is.

Stop protecting the men who harm others.
Stop shielding your abusive husbands.
Stop protecting your rapist brothers.
Stop hiding your sons’ predatory actions.
Stop making excuses for misogyny.

It’s sad that Peter Obi has to vow to serve just 1 term if elected President.

It should be all about competence.

It should be the Nigerian voter asking him to continue if he’s excellent in governance but I do understand his conviction about respecting the gentleman’s agreement of North and South rotation.

He’s committed to serving just a single term in office.

In 4 years

1. He can dismantle the criminality going on in NNPC.

2. dismantle the terrorists terrorizing Nigerians

3. Block all wastage going on in government at all levels

4. Start working on getting the country out of debt as he’s demonstrated in Anambra state

5. Declare a state of emergency in Healthcare and Education. He’s shown that’s his passion.

6. Rehabilitation of all infrastructure in the country.

And so on and so forth.

All these can be done in 4 years if a leader is committed to serving with a team that are ruthless in enforcing his vision.

It can be done.

Following the SOS appeal I got last week and my subsequent visit to the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, I received a similar SOS appeal from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Calabar on Saturday, highlighting a similar issue.

Today, I was in Calabar to meet with the students, and after my interaction with them, I offered my commitment towards ensuring their education is not derailed.

I made a modest donation of ₦20 million to support the Faculty’s immediate requirements of providing dental chairs to equip the studies of the students.

I urge the Government to prioritise critical areas of development of education, healthcare and pulling people out of poverty.

The government is to give this situation urgent attention by providing both financial and institutional support to the university leadership and assisting these students who have worked so hard to ensure this issue is resolved and their education remains uninterrupted.

I thank the Vice Chancellor and her team for all the hard work they have put in to ensure that these students are not made to suffer for circumstances that are in no way their fault.

At this critical time in our nation, we must stop neglecting healthcare, education and pulling people out of poverty. We must, as leaders, build a country where our students can focus on learning without a lack of basic facilities and tools.

We must do better as a nation. Our children must not continue to lose their future in Nigeria.

🚨After 26 Years on Death Row, Justice Prevails: Governor Otti Welcomes Freed Inmates Home

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has welcomed three Nigerians who regained their freedom after spending 26 years on death row at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison. Among them was Ogbonnaya Igbojionu, an Abia indigene wrongly convicted over a disputed generator transaction in 1999 and sentenced to death in 2003.

The release was initiated by Simon Oshi, who learned of their plight via a viral post by influencer Olumide Ogunsanwo. Moved by their story, Oshi engaged lawyers, verified the case, and informed Governor Otti, who swiftly involved the Abia Attorney General. Otti’s collaboration with Lagos and Ogun State authorities led to their eventual release.

At Government House, Otti commended both Oshi and Ogunsanwo, reaffirming his commitment to justice and human dignity. He also directed government officials to facilitate the reintegration of the ex-inmates. Igbojionu, speaking for the group, expressed heartfelt gratitude, recounting years of injustice and thanking Otti for giving them a second chance.

This morning, I again remembered the all- time quote of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan:

I agree. Societies that have kept sustaining injustice are the ones that are stuck in lowest economic growth, pernicious poverty and widespread inequality. So, we should all not agree for the injustice being inflicted on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to be sustained.

Can the @NGRSenate and @Senator_Akpabio tell Nigerians why they have persisted in denying their courageous colleague, Senator @NatashaAkpoti, the right to fair hearing and impartial investigation of her Sexual Harassment petition against the Senate President?

Why is Senator Akpabio obstructing every opportunity for an impartial Senate inquiry into this matter? Why is he dodging the opportunity that can help him prove his innocence of the serious allegation leveled by his female colleague?

Why are Senator Akpabio’s colleagues in the Senate supporting such obstruction in gross violation of the same “Senate Rules” they used in illegally suspending Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan?

The Senate cannot pretend to be “moving on” regarding this case. Not at all.

This Injustice cannot be sustained at all.

There’s no “moving on” possible without accountability, transparency and due process on this case of massive abuse of power by our country’s #3 top ranking public figure.

Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan is never walking alone on this case.

I just read a disturbing comment in the media space attributed to one of the supposed political leaders in the country that the life of the Vice President is in danger because of the faults recorded in his official aircraft.

The leader went further to urge the Federal Government to purchase a new aircraft for the Vice President.

In making such a remark now, the speaker is insensitive and obviously unconcerned about the prevailing economic situation in the country.

That Nigerians are facing untold hardship at this moment is no secret .

Such a provoking call is coming from a person who probably is oblivious of the fact that Nigeria, at present, has continued to manifest every trait of a failed state.

We are today among one of the eleven worst-governed African nations in the last 10 years. We are also among the 20 most hungry nations in the world, with our people facing worsening mass poverty, extreme hunger and starvation.

Our nation remains the poverty capital of the world, with our per capita income crashing further from $1700 in 2023 to $1109 this year.

Are these not the issues that should be prioritized by committed leaders?

Our national electricity grid has so far collapsed 8 times this year alone and 105 times in the last ten years, plunging our small businesses into great losses and households into darkness.

In the past 15 months, several businesses have closed down or become distressed due to the harsh economic environment in the country.

Are these not the issues that should preoccupy us as leaders, rather than being consumed by our selfish desires for needless luxury at the expense of the people we are called to serve?

What does Nigeria's Vice President need a new jet for, and what value are all Presidential and Vice Presidential trips adding to our present situation?

It was not until 2014 that Indonesia, with sustainable economic growth of over 6% annually for the past 10 years, adding about 50% to both her GDP and GDP per capita, decide to buy a Presidential jet, used by both the President and Vice President.

The Vice President travels mostly in the country's national airline, Garuda Indonesia.

And since we have recently undeservedly bought one, it should be used on essential, inevitable trips of the President and Vice President.

I appeal to the President, Vice President, and our public office holders that our present precarious situation calls only for minimal and highly contributory inevitable travels.

It is time to sit down and find solutions to our litany of challenges for the wellbeing of the people and the development of our country.

Nigeria will rise again if the leadership can commit to selfless service.

I have been inundated with calls and concerns regarding the interview I granted to News Central TV.

In that interview, I took the opportunity it provided to explain my position in detail. However, some fifth columnists have resorted to propaganda, deliberately distorting the narrative.

Let me reiterate clearly what I said, which is on record.

I do not want to be one of those preoccupied with 2027 while Nigerians are suffering from hunger, poverty, insecurity, and other pressing challenges.

When I was asked about collaboration, I explicitly stated my openness to working with others, provided their intentions were not centred on state capture. I emphasized my commitment to partnering with those who share my vision for advancing Nigeria’s progress.

I also made it clear that I remain committed to the Labour Party, and if anyone wishes to negotiate or join forces, they must disclose their true intentions.

As I have always maintained, I am not desperate to become president, but I am determined to see Nigeria work.

Likewise, I am not desperate for any position at all as I believe I can make contributions as I am already doing without occupying any. When 2027 arrives, if I decide to run for any office, it will not be with those whose sole aim is state capture or merely winning an election. I want them to explain how we will ensure that no child is left behind and how we will bring millions of out-of-school children back into classrooms, ensure healthy living and pull people out of poverty.

My statement was unequivocal, and I am genuinely surprised by the misrepresentation of my words.

For the avoidance of doubts, I never stated at any time that I would be vice president to anyone and it's unequivocal.
I have consistently maintained that I am open to working with those committed to building a new Nigeria.

My commitment to Nigeria remains steadfast, and I even believe it is possible to contribute to its progress without occupying any office as I am already doing. -PO
