The team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been disbanded

- The game did not meet sales expectations
- Ubisoft had already made up its mind on the game just weeks after release
- Developers of the game felt that it was the best project they had ever worked on
- One of the reasons Ubisoft didn't greenlight a sequel was the concern of a second game cannibalizing sales of this one
- The dev team wanted to work on two expansions for the game but it was turned down because it would require increased manpower

i don't really know how to articulate this but gamedev programmers are on an entire other level to non-games programmers

repeatedly needing to solve problems that have never existed before, because the world you're creating them in has never existed changes you as a person
