I thank the leaders of the @G7 for recognizing the vital role of WHO in health emergencies. Great to see their commitment to fight antimicrobial resistance with a #OneHealth approach, and their willingness to accelerate efforts to #endTB & eradicate #polio https://t.co/hwPICrcDT8
Have made good progress and can be cautiously optimistic, we need to continue active surveillance & response @DrTedros to the team in Itipo. Challenges include non availability of water, local radio, ambulances, and social support for affected families @WHOAFRO@WHO@OlyIlunga
Pleased to be in Central African Republic 🇨🇫 to see first-hand the #Ebola preparedness efforts the country is taking, with strong support from our @OMSCentrafrique colleagues. Thank you President Touadéra and Dr Somse, Minister of Health, for the invitation.
I met in with President Touadéra in Bangui, Central African Republic. We discussed how WHO can support strengthening the health system. He is committed to improving primary health, the foundation for #HealthForAll.
.@DrTedros visited Central African Republic. The country has taken steps to prepare for a potential case of #Ebola. 🇨🇫 has set up a treatment centre and reinforced surveillance. CAR is one of 9 countries neighboring #DRC taking preparedness measures.
Thanks for your leadership, President @Horacio_Cartes. Congratulations for eliminating #malaria in #Paraguay.
Gracias por su liderazgo, Presidente. La voluntad política es clave para lograr hazañas en salud pública. Felicidades por eliminar malaria🇵🇾

Thank you Secretary-General @antonioguterres for this important message. Indeed, we have to ensure better health for people with disabilities. #HealthForAll means leaving no one behind https://t.co/6icaY4w7O3
.@DrTedros visited #Itipo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Thanks to the work of all partners on the ground, there is good progress in the #Ebola response. But the work continues.
"We have made great progress in the fight against #Ebola, but it's too early to declare victory. We must remain vigilant and continue to strengthen surveillance to stop the outbreak."—@DrTedros#DRC🇨🇩
During my visit to Central African Republic I had a chance to meet with #HealthWorkers. Our @OMSCentrafrique team will continue collaborating with the Minister of Health to revitalize the health system.
Humbled by the conversation I had with Marie in Itipo, #DRC. She fell sick with #Ebola a few weeks ago, but received quick treatment and is now supporting her community to stop the outbreak. It’s great to see the impact that WHO, @MSF and partners have in people’s lives.
At a primary health center in Bangui, CAR, immunization clinic. A girl waits with her 9th sibling while mother is at work. Urgent need for reducing maternal and child mortality, huge govt commitment. @WHO ready to support @DrTedros@WHOAFRO
Dr Tedros #WHO DG about Central African Republic (CAR). "This Country is really neglected even by the media. Politically neglected, financially neglected and also operationally neglected. The international community should give the right attention to #CAR".
WHO Regional Director for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab says the Tallinn Charter galvanized the health system landscape with its values-driven approach, focused on:
•Solidarity
•Equity
•Participation

Central African Republic faces serious health & humanitarian challenges:
-Low immunization rates (less than 50%)
-1 in 25 people between 15-49 live with HIV
-High maternal mortality rates
-1 in 2 people need humanitarian aid
“It’s a neglected crisis”—@DrTedros#CARcrisis 🇨🇫
WHO chief says Ebola outbreak in DR Congo 'not over': Tedros Adhanom says the situation has stabilised but the war is not over. https://t.co/MqJqog44Qo
It was great talking to @raj_devex live from Kinshasa, to discuss the #Ebola response, the neglected health crisis in the Central African Republic (#CARcrisis), and malaria elimination in Paraguay.
Glad to be part of #DevexWorld! https://t.co/SGpPg2BwCK
