Mariyam Shaneen Muhammad, a young resident of Gdh. Thinadhoo, is facing a severe health crisis and urgently seeking financial assistance from the public to undergo specialized medical treatment in India. For years, Shaneen has suffered from severe, life-threatening allergic reactions to numerous foods and medications, a condition that has recently escalated into persistent internal bleeding and seizures.
Since childhood, Shaneen’s extreme sensitivity to drugs—including standard pain relievers—has presented complex challenges for medical professionals attempting to manage her pain and symptoms. Her condition has led to frequent ICU admissions caused by sudden bodily swelling and acute respiratory distress, severely disrupting her education and growth. Over the past five months, her health has deteriorated further as she began repeatedly vomiting blood.
Despite numerous admissions and evaluations across Thinadhoo Regional Hospital, Hulhumalé Hospital, and Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé, local doctors have been unable to determine the underlying cause of her illness. During her latest two-week emergency hospitalization at IGMH, medical teams have had to rely on strong temporary medications and injections to control the bleeding, though the symptoms continue to recur. The relentless physical pain and psychological strain have also triggered frequent stress-induced seizures (“stress fits”).
With their departure for India scheduled for tomorrow night, Shaneen’s family is under severe financial strain. Funds previously saved for overseas care were exhausted during prior emergency hospitalizations at a private facility in Malé. Unable to bear the financial burden alone, the family is appealing for generous contributions from the public to help cover the costs of her critical diagnostic workup and long-term care abroad.

@mohamedfiraq@abkhaleel@Thiladhuhmathi Thsi report is a biased one claiming land cost billions &claims 3.9million per head which is not correct as per cost of reclamation ++
HM 249Hectare reclaimed for usd50million means per sqft MVR 60/-, considering all cost on 50% land =1250sqft for 75k
2.8m sqft land cost be 168m
Unable to access the building today because this car decided to park inside of the building boundary. @PoliceMv just told me they will not be penalizing the owner neither towing the vehicle. They will call the owner to remove the car in their own leisure and that leaves us either to climb over this car or to stay on the road until the owner wakes up from his nap at home. Thank you MPS and thank you @MMuizzu@presidencymv@ameen3d@MoTCAmv
Majeedhee Magu may be far from ideal but the decision to keep these trees as part of the road when it was developed makes a huge difference in this scorching heat.
