It was a pleasure to host our long-standing donor partner, @cagrameen in #Igatpuri, for the inauguration of a new batch of #skilling students to be trained in masonry and #electrical courses.
@WeAreSwades's skilling program adds over INR 30 crores of income per annum to rural households in #Maharashtra.
Equipped with #technical and #softskills to create stable and dignified sources of livelihood, these students will join the 4,800+ skilled youth that has been trained under Swades' skilling program supported by implementation partners #udyogwardhini and @LearnetSkills.

Lack of opportunities and access to skills forces thousands of youth from the villages to seek employment in the cities as manual laborers. Skilling equips them with a better range of opportunities with fairer compensations, not limited to the entry level.
Like Santosh, 4,700+ youth have been trained by @WeAreSwades, with support from #CSR partners and implementation partners such as @LearnetSkills and more recently, @Udyogwardhini3 in courses such as masonry, welding, accounting, hospitality, etc. 3,900+ have been placed in formal employment - 79% have completed over a year at their new job placements.
This #YouthSkillingDay, here's a shoutout to all the young men and women who swam against the tide to become proud, empowered individuals in rural India.
