For what it is worth, the “blockade of the ports or coasts of a State by the armed forces of another State” qualifies as an act of aggression and is illegal under international law
(UNGA Resolution 3314, definition of aggression)
As Trump warns that a “whole civilization will die tonight,” it is worth reminding him that threats made with the aim of terrorizing a civilian population are themselves war crimes. https://t.co/PP7UR7qLGN
Israel must immediately repeal the discriminatory death penalty law passed today by the Knesset, as it contravenes Israel’s obligations under international law.
The United Nations opposes the death penalty under all circumstances. The implementation of this new law would violate international law's prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment.
Additionally, this law further entrenches Israel’s violation of the prohibition of racial segregation and apartheid as it will exclusively apply to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Israel, who are often convicted after unfair trials.

Yes, I am a feminist.
No, I'm not happy that Ayatollah Khamenei is dead.
I am never happy when the imperialist forces kill. And I'm not naive enough to believe that the US and Israel are trying to empower Iranian women.
Down with imperialism. Down with capitalism.
A day after the US & Zionist forces killed over 100 school children in Tehran, security forces stationed at US consulate in Karachi have killed 9 Pakistani citizens.
Have we accepted this apocalyptic vision where they can kill our children with impunity? Where is our honour?
Beyond shocked at how Imran Khan’s health has been ignored. This is abhorrent and outrageous. No one in the entire country supports this treatment of Khan, not one person.
I love everything about this video. How many images do we get of women celebrating in public? Especially older women - laughing, joyous, being a little naughty is the life energy we all need. They are repositories of decades of Basant rooftop memories.
Western discourse about the ceasefire is so full of double standards it truly boggles the mind.
The West insists that Hamas must be disarmed because of October 7... but if we accept this logic we surely must conclude that Israel, which has committed *actual genocide for two years running*, must also be disarmed, and even more urgently.
The West insists that Hamas cannot have any role in governance of Gaza (irrespective of whatever the wishes of people in Gaza may be). But again, if we accept this logic then Netanyahu, Likud and the other parties that govern Israel, which again committed *actual genocide*, must also be forcibly removed and debarred from governance.
The West insists that Palestinians must be "deradicalized". How could this possibly not apply a thousand times more to Israeli society, which has actively conducted and supported the genocide with little to no dissent?
In other words, even by the West's own logic, leaving aside all other aspects of international law, we should disarm Israel, forcibly remove its government, and impose deradicalization on Israeli society in order to prevent it from posing any further threat.
A flood victim was sitting alone, people told him to grieve a little, and he replied, ‘Grieve with whom? My mother is gone, my father is gone, my sister and brother are gone, my wife is gone, my children are gone.....
The Modi govt's decision to start mourning Pakistan's independence day as 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' 75 years after Partition is frankly lunatic behaviour for a neighbouring state. Hard to see how you talk peace with a regime hell bent on rejecting your existence.
“One day, when it’s safe, when there’s no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it’s too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.” — Omar El Akkad
When men hate women, women die. When women hate men, men get their feelings hurt. There’s a difference, one is structural, the other is emotional. Let’s not confuse critique with cruelty.
