Based on a Realtek RTL8159 chipset, the devices run cool (33°C measured under load) and work with Windows, Linux, and macOS computers and boards.

They perform best when connected to 20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports, but acceptable performance is also achievable on 10 Gbps ports. However, 40 Gbps Thunderbolt/USB4 ports are not optimal, and performance may vary a lot depending on the version used.
