Disgusted with @Barclays who denied us consent to let today. We're stuck in a one bed flat with a young baby, unable to sell because of the #cladding scandal, through no fault of our own. It's our only way out. If these aren't exceptional circumstances, I don't know what are.
@ArgosHelpers I'll do that now. We collected it in store so have been told you won't pick it up because that Argos isn't the same as this Argos. And even if you wanted to pick it up, it has to be in the exact same packaging. Unless someone can send the machine used to vacuum pack mattresses..?
@ArgosHelpers we bought a mattress from you yesterday. It was the wrong size, no way of us knowing as it doesn't say on packing. How are we meant to return it? Hire a van and drag an unfolded double mattress through Sainsbury's? Ridiculous you can't pick it up after your mistake.
UPDATE: the case was reopened as it had clearly been mishandled. We've now got verbal permission to let, waiting for it in writing before we celebrate, but such a relief to be able to get out! Thanks for all the support ☺️ To anyone else in a similar position, keep trying.

@cladtrap@Barclays A bit of a computer says no situation I'm afraid. Infuriating as most of the people I spoke to seemed to think there wouldn't be any issues due to the clear exceptional circumstances. However the person handling the complaint didn't really understand the situation
@ooube @Barclays I really hope you get permission. It's so horrible for us right now. Barclays have definitely given others permission, but unfortunately our complaint was mishandled and I believe that's why it's been denied for us.
@huntmj28@Barclays Really glad you managed to get permission in the end. Unfortunately someone in the customer services team raised a complaint on our behalf and that means we can't continue the conversation with them as they've 'resolved' it.
@huntmj28@Barclays Thanks @huntmj28. Did you have to go through the ombudsman? It's already taken months to get to this disappointing point, I'm so exhausted at the thought of starting all over again with them ☹️
@BarclaysUKHelp Unhappy is an understatement. Considering Barclays and other lenders have given people in our exact situation permission, I'm shocked and gutted. The H2B company & our housing association gave us permission, only Barclays stand in our way. The impact on our little family is huge.
@BarclaysUKHelp Unfortunately this is the outcome of a poorly handled complaint. The person managing the case displayed an utter lack of knowledge for the cladding situation yet still brought the complaint to this resolution. She even urged me to "try harder to sell".
