We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families.

Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating.

We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink.

Has the speed been fully restored to what it was before? No. Is it being restored now? Yes.

Scott McLaughlin stalked, raped and stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death. He was executed by the state of Missouri in 2023. He was not a woman. He was a man. He was a man when he stalked, raped, and murdered his ex-girlfried. He was a man while waiting on death row for his execution.

The Times of London calls him a woman because he began calling himself a woman named Amber while he was in prison. But calling yourself a woman when you are a man does not make you woman. A man who calls himself a woman remains a man who calls himself a woman.

The state of Missouri kept him housed in a men's maximum security prison while awaiting his execution. They allowed him to start taking estrogen in prison because of a successful lawsuit by another male prisoner demanding the right to take estrogen in prison. Taking estrogen did not make Scott McLaughlin a woman. A man who injects himself with estrogen remains a man.

If Scott McLaughlin had never stalked, raped, and murdered his ex-girlfriend, if he had declared himself to be a woman while being a duly employed citizen in good standing and not while a death row inmate, he would still have been a man. Scott McLaughlin was not a woman because he was an adult human male. Because he was an adult human male, he was a man. A man is an adult human male. All adult human males are men. No adult human males are women.

There appears to be a serious open justice problem with the Sandie Peggie v RCN tribunal, which starts in Dundee next Wednesday and is listed for 7 days. This is a case of obvious public and media interest, following the earlier NHS Fife hearing in the same building, when an overflow room was needed and people were still turned away. The date has been known since 2025 and the President of the Employment Tribunals (Scotland)’s own July 2025 Open Justice Guidance contemplates extra capacity or transmission to another room when demand is high. Campaigners had asked for that provision and were told there will be no additional room, with public access first-come, first-served in the main courtroom only. This will leave supporters, journalists and even family members competing for a handful of seats and it means many people who have taken time off work and organised travel and flights like me, will likely be turned away.
Holyrood is sitting this week so this can still be fixed before the hearing opens: an overflow room and a properly controlled public livestream should be made available and if not, at least the latter. A transcript, however accurate, cannot capture tone, hesitation or how seriously women’s privacy and sex-based rights are treated in the room. @tribunaltweets do an outstanding job of live reporting, but that is not a substitute for the public being able to watch and listen.
