We welcome the federal indictment charging a Florida man who allegedly attempted to carry out a mass shooting targeting employees of a pro-Israel organization.
We thank the Department of Justice, FBI, and law enforcement officials whose work helped prevent what could have been a devastating act of antisemitic violence.
This case is a stark reminder that antizionism can serve as a gateway to anti-Jewish hatred and violence. No one should be targeted, threatened, or attacked because of their Jewish identity or their support for Israel.
As antisemitism continues to rise, we must remain vigilant in confronting the hatred, radicalization, and incitement that put Jewish communities at risk.

Toronto police are investigating a series of troubling incidents targeting the U.S. Consulate, synagogues, and other Jewish institutions.
Investigators believe some of these attacks may involve a “gun-for-hire” model, highlighting the growing intersection of organized crime, extremism, and foreign influence.
These developments come amid the recent U.S. indictment of Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, a member of the Iranian-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia, who prosecutors allege worked with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to establish a terrorist network leveraging organized crime and planning attacks in Canada and elsewhere.
According to U.S. prosecutors, Al-Saadi was linked to the shooting at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto and was involved in organizing attacks on synagogues, including a synagogue in Canada.
As authorities continue to connect the dots, governments and law enforcement agencies must remain vigilant in confronting extremist networks, foreign-backed threats, and criminal activity that endanger Jewish communities and undermine public safety.

“However the current war with the radical regime in Iran concludes, and whether the reign of Iranian terror ends quickly or over time, it is those forward-looking nations that will shape the new Middle East.”
In the @TimesofIsrael, AJC Chief Policy and Political Affairs Officer Jason Isaacson reflects on AJC’s recent engagements in the UAE and Bahrain and the enduring promise of the Abraham Accords.
As Iran continues to spread instability, threaten its neighbors, and undermine coexistence, countries like the UAE and Bahrain are investing in dialogue, tolerance, and regional cooperation—helping build a more integrated and prosperous Middle East.

At a time of ongoing discussions about Iran and regional security, one principle must remain clear: no agreement should limit Israel’s ability to defend its citizens.
On @NewsX, AJC Chief Policy and Political Affairs Officer Jason Isaacson explains why Hezbollah remains a serious threat to both Israel and Lebanon—and why any future arrangement must recognize Israel’s right to respond to attacks against its people.

We commend Dutch authorities for their swift action in arresting a suspect allegedly planning an attack on a synagogue in the Netherlands.
This incident is a stark reminder of the heightened threats facing Jewish communities across Europe and around the world.
As antisemitism continues to rise, governments must remain vigilant, ensure robust security for Jewish institutions, and hold accountable those who seek to target Jews with violence and intimidation.

While we await developments about the reported 60-day ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and begin negotiations on a more comprehensive agreement, we remain focused on the underlying threats posed by the Iranian regime that have destabilized the Middle East for decades.
Any comprehensive agreement with Iran that emerges after this 60-day ceasefire period should focus on ensuring that the Iranian regime can never obtain a nuclear weapon, cannot rebuild its ballistic missile program, and curbs its support for terror proxies. Such an agreement must also ensure that Iran is unable to threaten U.S. allies and partners in the region or hold freedom of navigation through international waterways hostage.
AJC also strongly supports the legitimate aspirations of the Iranian people for greater freedom, opportunity and dignity, and hopes that those aspirations are eventually realized. As the contours of this and future agreements become more clear, we will continue to engage with our partners in the U.S., the Middle East, and around the world to make this vision a reality.
We welcome Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi’s historic first visit to Israel and the opening of Somaliland’s embassy in Jerusalem.
This milestone builds on the growing relationship between Israel and Somaliland and reflects the shared commitment to deeper cooperation, partnership, and people-to-people ties.
AJC looks forward to continuing to help strengthen the relationship between Israel and Somaliland in the years ahead.

The launch of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center is a milestone for the 3+1 partnership among the U.S., Israel, Greece, and Cyprus — and a direct result of the East Med Act of 2019, led by then-Sen. Marco Rubio (@SecRubio) and then-Representative (now @AJCCEO) Ted Deutch.
AJC advocated for this legislation and has long championed 3+1 cooperation. This Center will deepen energy collaboration and strengthen regional security at a moment when both are essential. This is what sustained advocacy delivers.
Energy cooperation is the backbone of global stability. I was proud to join @SecretaryWright and @YpenGr Minister Papastavrou for the historic launch of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center at @RiceUniversity’s @BakerInstitute for Public Policy, a milestone for the 3+1 partnership 🇺🇸 🇬🇷 🇨🇾🇮🇱. Under the leadership of @POTUS, America is working with our partners to advance energy security, regional stability, economic growth, and new investment across the Eastern Mediterranean. When nations work together to secure reliable and affordable energy, they strengthen their economies and the partnerships that keep our world safe and prosperous.
The new Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center advances this critical cooperation. We look forward to expanding business-to-business engagement and unlocking the vast energy potential of the region for the benefit of our nations and our people.
Ten years ago today, a terrorist linked to the Islamic State murdered 49 innocent people and injured dozens of others who were celebrating Latin Night at Pulse, an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
We remember and honor the victims and stand with the survivors and families of those lost in this senseless act of violence and hate.
For decades, AJC has worked to strengthen Muslim-Jewish relations through dialogue, partnership, and a shared commitment to building a more inclusive future.
On @JBSTVORG, AJC Director of Muslim-Jewish Relations @AriMGordon reflected on what makes that work possible: a willingness to engage, listen, and stay at the table—even amid disagreement.

We are deeply concerned by reports that European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas compared Israel to apartheid-era South Africa.
Such a characterization departs from the longstanding position of the EU, misrepresents the historical reality of apartheid, and fuels a dangerous campaign to delegitimize Israel.
We urge her to clarify and retract these reported remarks. The apartheid label has been repeatedly rejected by the EU itself, the United States, and many democratic governments around the world.

This is Israel! Today, more than 100,000 people from around the world took to the streets of Tel Aviv to celebrate in the annual Pride Parade.
This event is the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world, serving as a proud display of the openness, freedom, and diversity that define Israeli society.
AJC welcomes the launch of the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace, backed by the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, with an initial £3 million commitment.
We have long supported this effort alongside the Alliance for Middle East Peace (@ALLMEP), recognizing that civil society initiatives and people-to-people engagement are essential to build trust, expand networks, and lay the foundation for a more secure, prosperous, and interconnected Middle East.

We welcome the Slovenian government's decision to rescind its arms embargo on Israel.
At a time when Israel continues to confront significant security challenges, cooperation among democratic partners is essential.
We hope this decision marks a positive step toward stronger engagement and closer ties between Slovenia and Israel.

We are at an inflection point in the fight against hate.
Surging antisemitism is not just a threat to the Jewish community; it is a crisis for our democracy and the values we cherish as Americans.
I thank @RepDanGoldman and @RepMikeLawler for their leadership and for demonstrating that confronting Jew-hatred and protecting American Jews is not a political issue—it's a moral obligation.
In May alone, antisemitic incidents were recorded in 29 out of London's 32 boroughs, according to @MetPoliceUK data.
Antisemitic incidents in London rose a whopping 72% in May compared to April, and a staggering 172% over last year.
This is what happens when antisemitic rhetoric becomes normalized and Jews are targeted because of a geopolitical conflict thousands of miles away.
We urge the British government, the @MayorofLondon, and the Met Police to continue to ramp up efforts to protect the Jewish community.
