🤔JUST A PT🤔
I hear this a lot.
And with absolutely no disrespect to the many excellent top class personal trainers out there, our jobs are not the same.
A good personal trainer is an expert in helping people get stronger, fitter, healthier and perform better.
And all respect to them! 🫡
But a good physiotherapist should first be an expert in recognising when something that looks like a simple ache or pain… isn’t.
Is that shoulder pain inflammatory arthritis?
Is that back pain spinal cord compression?
Is that neck pain with those clumsy hands cervical myelopathy?
Is that pain a fracture, an infection, a vascular issue or neurological condition that needs urgent investigation, not another set of squats?
That’s the difference.
Resistance training is one of the most powerful treatments I use with almost everyone I see with many painful issues because it works for many things for many reasons!
But it’s utterly useles against these things.
Before I prescribe a squat, deadlift, or shoulder press, my first responsibility is making sure it’s safe to do so.
That’s why physios spend years learning anatomy, pathology, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, red flag recognition and risk assessment, not just exercise prescription.
If everything checks out? Then we’ll absolutely prescribe exercise. Because that’s often exactly what’s needed.
But if it doesn’t…
The last thing that person needs is someone confidently counting reps while completely missing the diagnosis.
That’s not being a glorified personal trainer.
That’s being a healthcare professional who also understands the immense value of strength training.
There’s a difference.
And for some people, it’s a fucking important one.

CHILLS. ABSOLUTE CHILLS.
The guy squirting water into Zach Ertz’s mouth is Joe O’Pella. He’s an athletic trainer that’s been with the team for over 15 years at this point.
NFL teams don’t really have water boys, athletic trainers are usually the ones responsible for having water on the practice field and during games, but this post is absolutely hilarious.
A guy who rehabbed my ACL tear in my second year, has a masters degree from Pitt, and has years of experience keeping Eagles players healthy and on the field being called a “Waterboy” is crazy, and I’m already giving him shit for it, but good lord this post is so wildly misleading.
Either way, thought I’d clear the air, that the people with Water Bottles during games actually serve much bigger roles on NFL Teams.
“I’m very proud of where I’m from and very proud that I can inspire the youth of a place like Hays, Kansas.”
@KanakJaren on representing @IndianFball_WTG and the community of Hays.
@NFLonCBS Jim Nantz talking about a "specialty helmet" on a player since he's dealing with concussions
If only there was someone to tell him that there's never been any proof that they help and in fact some that they may hurt

With the Chiefs not winning the Super Bowl this year, it ties their longest drought in the Patrick Mahomes era.
Two whole seasons without a ring. Devastating.
Proverbs don’t play games.
God keeps saying the same thing over and over for a reason:
Get wisdom. Seek understanding. Guard it like your life depends on it, because it does.
Strength fades. Beauty fades. Status fades.
But wisdom…
That’s the crown He chooses to put on your head.
Every time I come back to these verses, I’m reminded:
If you want God’s favor… chase the thing He values most.
Dear God,
Thank You for everything — for this day, for the breath in my lungs, and for the strength to keep going even when life hurts. Thank You for being my steady hand when everything else feels shaky.
Right now, I surrender it all to You — every worry, every fear, every unanswered question. Your word in Isaiah 41:10 says: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
That promise is my anchor, Lord. When my mind wants to spiral, I choose to be still and trust You. I refuse to let fear run my life. I won’t overthink what You’ve already worked out.
You are faithful, You are good, and Your timing is perfect — even when I don’t understand it.
Thank You for hearing me, for guiding me, and for reminding me that You’re always near.
Today, I rest in that truth.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Have faith in God.” — Mark 11:22
I went to this game in my amazing chiefs starter jacket and rode the RTD(bus)home, feared for my life as a 13 year old. Rivalries were different back then for sure!

A MONDAY NIGHT ALL-TIMER
MONTANA-ELWAY DUEL AT MILE HIGH
After the #Broncos' John Elway scores on a go-ahead QB draw with 1:29 remaining, the #Chiefs' Joe Montana orchestrates a 9-play, 75-yard drive culminating in 5-yard touchdown pass to Willie Davis with 0:08 left on the clock to win, 31-28.

Hays Police Officer Sgt Scott Heimann tragically died on Sunday while defending his community from harm. Hays is a small, tight-knit town, and the loss of this young man is deeply heartbreaking for us. We will always remember Sgt. Heimann's sacrifice and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
My prayers are with Sgt Heimann’s wife, children and the entire law enforcement and Hays community during this difficult time.
