@winexviv I know a student who has won math competitions back to back. Won the World Math Tournament in 2024, won AMC 8 and 10, qualified for final rounds of the Nigerian Math Olympiad. He reached the semifinal in interswitch iSpark competition. Yet in this year's WAEC, he had a C in math.
@winexviv Heard this today from a school that went to register for GCE, discovered they can't register for Marketing, or Computer Studies and these are subjects they did since SSS1. Please @InibeheEffiong I'm sorry I tagged you in this, is this "just" from the legal perspective?
@iread_bayode@donatus_ma87620@winexviv@oluwaloninyo Sir, the Government selected these kids to represent her through the NMO exams, organized by the NMC https://t.co/sHVMoQr0t3. I mean its just like the Olympics team of Nigeria, only this is for Mathematics. The schools are not allowed to fund it.
@C_CDon@NGRPresident@NigEducation The Nigerian Govt. organized the exam that selected Agbo to represent her in the Olympiads via the National Mathematics Centre in Abuja. Does it make sense that they are not aware of sponsorship request? Should there even be a sponsorship request?
@C_CDon@NGRPresident@NigEducation Here's the 3rd round result of the 2025 Nigerian Math Olympiad. Top 3 students from here were to represent Nigeria in the IMO in Queensland, Australia. Agbo Adoga came out tops. Why was Nigeria not represented in the Olympiad despite those kids sweating it out to qualify?
@OduRasaq@winexviv Here bro, https://t.co/sHVMoQr0t3. This is the body that organize the Nigerian Math Olympiad as well as Informatics and science olympiad every year, around October. The top 3 students from those competitions are supposed to represent Nigeria in the International Olympiad.
@winexviv In the past 4 or so years, Nigeria has not participated in the International Math Olympiad because of funding. Some schools don't even prepare for the Olympiad anymore bcos they know there won't be funds for them to participate even if they qualify.

@bookaaah@instablog9ja I believe they were thanking God for lives not lost. It could have been worse. The baby could have died, or the father while on the rescue mission. But God saved them both.
Calls for thanksgiving, don't you think so?
Even you, should be thankful to God, you're still here.
