📢Delighted to share our new paper!
Using a multi-centre study, we sought to 1) explore professional views of using rapid-learning & real-world data to inform radiotherapy treatments, and 2) identify key factors that may affect implementation of this approach in practice 1/2
Rapid-learning approaches may offer timely alternatives to traditional clinical trial studies for the evaluation of changes in radiotherapy.

🫁 Clinicians, psychologists, researchers and patient advocates met last month at an interdisciplinary lung health equity workshop, held to create new interdisciplinary teams and spark new ideas to improve lung health equity in Manchester and beyond.

Our policy piece explores how NHS Health Checks could be better optimised to support people in making health behaviour changes for improved cardiovascular outcomes 🩺❤️

Our experts are making lung cancer research more inclusive.
All people receiving curative radiotherapy for lung cancer cant take part in the @_RAPID_RT_ study.
The aim is to improve the survival of those who may go on to have heart problems after treatment.

Rapid-learning viewed positively as a complementary approach to RCTs. Key considerations for implementation include:
- Quality of RWD & maturity of data infrastructures
- Capacity of different centres to develop local evidence bases
- Support/education needed to convince teams
Real world evidence is subject to important biases and limitations that must be appropriately acknowledged and addressed conceptually and methodologically before clinical or policy inferences can be made regarding the findings.

Our #RapidRT poster that considers the feasibility of implementing a rapid-learning approach in radiotherapy treatment that I will be hoping to describe in more detail later this afternoon! #ImpSci23@_RAPID_RT
Closing the gap between research and practice: the role of implementation science in oncology🔬Learn how integrating implementation science into clinical trial design can enhance the translation of evidence into care

Delighted to be in Limerick for #ImpSci23 where I will be hoping to share findings from one of our first studies into the feasibility of implementing a rapid-learning approach for radiotherapy development #RapidRT@_RAPID_RT
Discussion time: how can we improve the implementation of rapid-learning methodology through support, education and evidence? How can data quality be improved? What is the role of patients in this development? @letsgetvocal#nothingaboutuswithoutus#datasaveslives
It's filming day! @FreshrbCIC, aided by @letsgetvocal, are filming @four_legs, Brian, & @RegenSocio chatting all things #citizensjury & @DrKateWicks on why PPIE is vital & what a privilege it is to hear to patient voice. Watch this space for the finished videos!
1/2 We were delighted to welcome @leslieswartz today who gave a fascinating & thought provoking talk on the history of psychology in South Africa - some successes in recent years but still work to be done in areas such as disability rights and the politics of care 🇿🇦
Brilliant start to #OBHC2022@SHOC_OBHC with Pre-Conference Workshop - powering through with huge amounts of energy from Catherine Pope @cj_pope (and doughnuts!) - great opp to make more new OBHC friends and hear top tips #healthcare#health#NHS#PHDchat
@charndog86 @EuroGaragesFC @LancashireFA@BDComFootball@LFARefs@asianimage@kickitout The fact that you've responded to simply refute allegations of racism and somehow very oddly shifted blame to the opposition, all whilst failing to address the three videos above (showing clear assault) is what I would consider, in your words, embarrassing and an abomination.
@Emma_cockcroft Thanks, this was a great read! I've looked at epistemic (in)justice within co-production of healthcare QI in my PhD (very recently submitted!) and a lot of this really resonated - particular need for epistemic humility/emotional labour focus
I'm at #CoPro2022 this afternoon and this analogy of patio tables to describe the often tokenism of people sharing their experience and whether we 'fit' or can 'sit' at the table really resonates.
Co-design tables can often be small and exclusionary but a shift is necessary.
