Aso Rock is trending because Nigerians do not believe Bayo Adelabu and Tinubu can fix electricity crisis as long as the Presidential Villa is running on a full ₦17bn solar system.
In 2025 FG approved ₦10bn to fully solarize the villa. Later, another ₦7bn was added to the project, handled by Julius Berger and collected it as at December 2025, Aso Rock went fully off-grid around January 2026.
Coincidentally, since then the power situation in the country has deteriorated.
Which later turned out to be due to a shortage in gas supply, which apparently is due to FG owing suppliers a whopping ₦3.3trillion. It is not connected to the Middle-East crisis as acclaimed by many patriotic Nigerians.
Now most Nigerians are not buying Adelabu’s apology, as they feel he’s only now apologizing because he didn’t get the Oyo governorship ticket.
And if the number 1 citizen lost faith in the system and went off-grid, then there is no hope for the common man. Hence, their apology and antics are only to gaslight the public.

“Neocolonialism is the worst form of imperialism.”
Because it gives the illusion of independence.
