Susan is an uncompromising Palestinian writer whose words spark fear in the minds of Zionists and their collaborators.

She went into Gaza not once but twice in 2024, in the middle of the fucking genocide, to bring supplies in and run writing workshops to teach a cohort of Palestinians how to tell their stories of survival.

This photo was taken just a few days before one of those trips when she had me show her how to use a camera so she could document her journey.

When I asked how she felt about going, she replied, "I'm willing to die for my land, for my people."

As politicians like Mamdani continue to capitulate to the right and erode the foundations on which they launched their careers, they abandon any hope of having an ounce of Susan's conviction.
