Some horrid news from DP road 9

Saturday afternoon, a resident driving his Skoda Fabia at under 20kmph, suddenly heard a loud thud from under the car, and both airbags got triggered.

Once they settled from the impact and got the car to a service centre, they learned that the base bar got hit by the loose manhole lid. Hence the sensors triggered assuming the impact to be something more serious.

Costs of repair easily a lakh and above, and the locals around said that this was the 4th incident on Saturday alone! One car even got its oil tank busted open from the bottom by the manhole lid

The manhole hit the front beam from below, triggering both airbags. the passenger side airbag cover hit and cracked the windshield!

Another resident also had a similar incident.
DP road 9, POWAI is not safe and is accident prone.

CCWA has been complaining through multiple tweets to @mybmcwardL from time to time and drawing their attention to illegal stalls being made on Adityavardhan Raheja Vihar Road.

Encroachment started by building a small nursery, then temporary sheds, stealing light from the electric pole.

In spite of our bringing the encroachments to their attention multiple times, BMC chose to remain a spectator.

Today, they have built five shops (concrete permanent structures) without any permission from BMC.

Businesses like Tandoori Momos, Chinese Corner, Vada Pav Shop (without Fire Noc and BMC Public Health Department permission), and air conditioning businesses

We met Asst. BMC Commissioner (L ward), who says BMC has not given any permission to build any structure on that road. He said they would serve notice to them. Why couldn't BMC demolish the structure when it was built? We have been continuously informing them about the illegal act. Now this may lead to unnecessary delay due to legal litigation if the encroachers move court.

This place is now a hotspot for hooligans who are a safety threat for ladies and kids of nearby societies

After encroachment of these lands, the encroachers then moved to grab another piece of land and tried to build another three shops near the societies (which were stopped by CCWA and society members).

We have partnered with The Stephen High School For the Deaf and Aphasic in #Mumbai to support their Montfort Care Early Intervention Centre, which strives to detect #hearingimpairment in #children, provides them with suitable therapeutic interventions and counsel the #parents to better support their children. The launch was done in the presence of our board member, Ms. @rajyarao, as well as senior leaders from @tech_mahindra, Mr @riazwrites , Ms. Alamelu Subramanian and our CEO, Mr @_chetankapoor.
