@Krustynail@DanNeidle The real problem is that the people won’t vote for any party that says: “We’re need big changes; we need to cut things or pay more tax.” The voters will vote for the other party. Reform: “too much spending”, discover they need the pensioner vote: “we’ll keep the triple lock”.
WAVERLEY IN DRY DOCK - UPDATE SUN 29th MARCH
Waverley has now been in dry dock for just over a week with great progress made. Check out the pictures in this post to see just how much work is underway to prepare Waverley for her 2026 season. 👇
Work Completed or Underway:
✅ Hull cleaned and fully inspected
✅ Hull cut open to remove old sprinkler system
✅ Old port spring beam removed
✅ Port paddlebox steel repairs
✅ Ship’s side valves removed, cleaned and inspected
✅ Hull painting
✅ Repainting capstan
✅ Sanding and varnishing of deck shelter doors
✅ Installing new upper aft deck timbers
✅ Installation of new cabling and piping for water mist fire suppression system
✅ Fitting new Dining Saloon windows
Work on Waverley has been taking place 24 hours a day as night shift workers are brought in to ensure all tasks are completed before the Easter weekend. Commercial dry docks often work around the clock to meet demand and given the scale of work underway on Waverley this level of labour has been much needed.
Dry docking Waverley is an annual event to allow for hull inspection and to keep her in tip top condition, however it is expensive and costs several thousand pounds each docking. This year over £700,000 will be spent in the shipyard.
On leaving dry dock Waverley will return to the James Watt Dock as work continues to install the new water mist fire system. In just a few weeks crew will be joining to undertake final preparations for sailing.
Timetables are now published for all sailings from Friday 8th May until Thursday 3rd September. Visit https://t.co/np1wH4f6XY and book your cruise today.
Keep watching for the release of the South Coast and Thames 2026 timetables which will be published in April.

@SWTrunkRoads@trafficscotland Of course I know! I follow this account and have notifications enabled to get urgent news of road incidents. Most of what makes my phone go ping and light up is this repetition of things you’ve been publishing daily for months.☹️
@ScottishJenbel@UndisScot It’s surprising how often you just hurt guess the area from the geology!
This one just smelled north east, Arbroath or north.

Immediate Actions to Take
