After boardroom meetings and long sitting hours at the forum, what a better way of stretching while appreciating and leaning! My 2.5 hours walk at Wuhan Botanical Garden wuhan botanical garden cas 🇨🇳. with Prof. Wang Qingfeng, the Director General and Director Sino-Africa Joint Research Center @CAS__Science was phenomenal. Sitting on about 200 acres the garden has about 11,000 species with around 800 #medicalspecies - including Epimedium brevicornu used in Chinese traditional medicine. The garden is well known for #Kiwi research and germplasma repository of over 70 Kiwifruit. The are 300 researchers and about 80 Professors under the @CAS__Science The garden is mainly sustained through entry fees with 1-1.2Million visitors annually. The Garden is multi-dimensional - it’s not just a park, but a #research powerhouse, a conservation hub, a public education venue, and a contributor to climate mitigation and sustainable agriculture. Partnership with @museumsofkenya published a book - Flora of Kenya. With the rich biodiversity in Kenya #SAJOREC and Africa at large there are lessons we can learn. Another milestone in closing the cancer care gap: under @IAEAorg’s #RaysOfHope, a new linear accelerator has arrived in Honduras 🇭🇳, funded by the US 🇺🇸, and will soon be in operation at Hospital San Felipe and bring life-saving radiotherapy to patients who previously could not afford treatment.
