@jesseproudman Or WA sourced income. But that seems obvious that sourced income would be taxed. Iโm just pushing back on the idea that people canโt have a vacation home in WA without being fully exposed to tax.
@jesseproudman The way I read it, if not domiciled in WA and spend less than 183 days, your only exposure is income while working in WA. Thatโs even if you have real estate in WA. I could be wrong though.
@jesseproudman Itโll be interesting to see how complex they manage to make the compliance guidance. Over or under 50 pages? Will see which lobbies got to them.
@jesseproudman Marko promised at that town hall (which was video recorded I believe) that he would not vote to lower tax below $1 million exemption. If that holds, I am genuinely curious how they plug a multi billion tax hole.
Hi @MarkoLiias was at town hall several weeks ago. One question/concern I have is to understand what is the plan if Millionaire tax does not generate expected collections? There will be leakage as has been shown by many other states/taxes. Is that accounted for in budgeting?
@aviel I went to town hall with my local reps and senator. They claimed trump gave huge tax cuts to the wealthy and the WA income tax was a way to take some of that tax cut back for WA. They truly seemed to believe it
