I’ve seen a lot of people wondering why Hamlin was on the field for so long. The medical literature overwhelmingly supports working cardiac arrests in place for best outcomes. If commotio cordis, even more important for early defibrillation/CPR. Textbook work tonight.

Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.

Thinking about Demar Hamlin. Commotio cordis is caused by an abrupt blow to the chest at exactly the wrong time in the cardiac cycle. Must be resuscitated with an AED.

His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests.
