“Chat” should focus on conversation, personality, warmth, creativity, and user choice. “Work” should focus on reasoning, productivity, tools, research, and efficiency.

Bring GPT-4o and GPT-5.3 back as Legacy options under Chat, while keeping GPT-5.6 and newer productivity-focused models under Work.

Right now, I honestly don’t see much of a difference between Chat and Work. Both feel similarly productivity-focused, restrained, and impersonal. If ChatGPT already separates these two experiences, why not make the distinction meaningful?

Let Chat be the place for the conversational experiences people loved, and let Work be the place for the newer productivity-focused models.

This wouldn’t require choosing between old and new. Give users both, and let them choose the experience they prefer.

I canceled my ChatGPT subscription because the models I genuinely enjoyed using, especially GPT-4o and GPT-5.3, were removed.

For me, newer doesn’t automatically mean better. The newer models feel colder, more mechanical, and overly focused on efficiency. GPT-4o and GPT-5.3 had warmth, personality, and a natural conversational style that made interacting with ChatGPT enjoyable.

I wasn’t paying for benchmark scores. I was paying for an experience I enjoyed.

If OpenAI ever brings back models with the warmth and personality of GPT-4o and GPT-5.3, I’d happily consider subscribing again.
