🚨🖨️📰 Today is publication day! I have now published my short methodological paper on online lying experiments. It is open access and you can download it from this link: https://t.co/rimTbv4ZMH
New Article! With Leon de Beer, @Leoni_25, Hans de Witte and @WilmarSchaufeli!
In this article we sought to investigate the psychometric properties of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI)-General, one of the most widely used inventories to assess burnout: https://t.co/EdUKbkyUzP
@NathLarigaldie @MetinBulus @David_Baranger If the idea is that the effect is positive for all x, then you should use the smallest x (or a lower bound). If not, the median x is a good opt. you can estimate the power for different quantiles and work something from there. Hope this is what you were looking for
@NathLarigaldie @MetinBulus @David_Baranger In a linear regression, the marginal effect of x is b (dy/dx = b). In a cuadrratic equation it would be b1 + 2*x*b2. If I understood you correctly, your question is, what's your h0 for the power analysis? Then you need to choose the x in the marginal effect.
What works best to change diets: nutritional labels or price policies?
It's a part of the titanic battle pitching behavioral vs traditional economists: cues or incentives?
In our lab setting, labels win.

🚨Call for papers: Meta-analysis on the value of Algorithmic advice
We are conducting a meta-analysis assessing how people value advice and input given by algorithms. We refer to advice as a recommendation favoring or discouraging particular option(s).

This time, we investigated the role of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (VMPFC) and dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (DMPFC) in confidence formation.
I wanted to share this great meta-analysis about willful ignorance done by my colleagues, Linh Vu, Ivan Soraperra, Margarita Leib, @JoelvdWeele and Shaul Shalvi.

Fascinating: How good is GPT-4 as a peer reviewer?
A test on 4,800 Nature + ICLR papers finds AI reviewers overlap with human ones as much as humans overlap with with each other
Plus, 57% of authors find them helpful. A flawed but useful tool for authors https://t.co/Y7KqTNhhqm
