In her statement, Sara Duterte deliberately named the judge who issued the warrant against her.
Why?
The warrant was a judicial act. The judge was performing her constitutional duty. So why was it necessary to publicly single her out by name?
Was it meant to direct public anger toward her? Was it intended to give her supporters someone to blame?
We may not know Sara Duterte’s exact intention but we can see the consequence.
DDS supporters are now actively posting the judge’s photograph online, turning a sitting judge into a target of public hostility simply for doing her job.
This is deeply irresponsible leadership.
A political leader with millions of followers knows that naming an individual official can have consequences. When you identify a person as the one responsible for your legal troubles, you cannot pretend you have no responsibility for what your supporters do next.
A responsible leader would tell her supporters: Respect the court. Do not threaten or harass the judge. Let the law take its course.
Instead, we are seeing the opposite.
This is what concerns me about Sara Duterte’s style of leadership: she has a remarkable ability to turn institutions, officials, and individuals into enemies in the eyes of her followers and in doing so, bring out the ugliest instincts of political tribalism.
Criticise the decision. Challenge the warrant through the courts. Defend yourself legally.
But do not turn the judge into a public enemy.
No politician - regardless of how powerful should weaponise her followers against an individual whose only apparent offence was doing her job.
The rule of law cannot survive if judges become targets whenever their decisions displease a politician or her supporters.

Rizal fought Spanish rule. He used a secret name to avoid execution by foreign tyrants.
Modern officials manage public cash. They use secret names to avoid government audits.
Comparing freedom fighters to unaccountable bureaucrats is stupid.
