1/ Happy to share the core of my PhD project—just posted on BioRxiv!🚨We uncover a novel role for IGF2BP3 in regulating the cellular response to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress – the unfolded protein response (UPR). Thread 🧵 (1/7) ⬇️

6/ 🏥 Why does this matter? The UPR is implicated in development and cancer - contexts where IGF2BP3 is highly expressed. This dual-layered regulatory mechanism may allow cells to shiftbetween opposing IGF2BP3 functions, enabling cell state-specific fate decisions.
🆕 #preprint by Karagoz lab & us on the crosstalk between #UFMylation & #RQC (ribosome-associated quality control) https://t.co/8RgM7yPxLJ As always let us know what you think!
1/ Excited to share the first preprint from my PhD work co-authored with @alessandrick on how UFMylation and the ribosome-associated quality control (RQC) pathways collaborate to clear stalled ribosomes at the ER! #UFMylation#qualitycontrol#ER

In this latest work from Karagöz Lab Harald shows the regulatory role of phosphorylation of IGF2BP1's IDRs on its propensity to form condensates and to regulate its mRNA targets. Congratulations!! 🎉
📢 Paper alert from the Karagöz lab! Published in @NatureComms, first author Harald Hornegger reveals that phosphorylation of IGF2BP1 impacts the size and number of stress granules 🫧 Their study shows how cells can fine-tune transcription💡Read more ➡️ https://t.co/tbVTOIzQO9
Please RT‼️ 📢We are looking for 2 #PreDocs (Research Interns). 1/Ribosome profiling, RNA-Seq (w/@gekaragoz lab), 2/#Marchantia genetics and cell biology. If you want to gain research experience before starting your PhD, please get in touch.

Happy to share our recent work on #Autophagy and #UFMylation now available at @biorxivpreprint. Specially happy because is my first-ever first-(co)author publication. And personally very grateful to @gekaragoz for inspiring NMR lessons and discussions. Don't miss the thread! 👇🏻
