Throughout this semester I learned that Omega-3s can do a lot for the body! I know it helps with some deficiencies, white matter and now brain development. I find this all very interesting and definitely want to look more into it! @beh353#beh353
@AnthonyDeMarc07@beh353 Hi Anthony, great post! I love how you worded what nutrition is. Nutrition is important to everyone, especially having access to healthy foods and a plan! @beh353#beh353
Knowing nutrition and going into the medical field is a must. Every body is different and deserves to be treated the same! As a future healthcare professional I am going to help patients feel less judged in their care due to their nutritional health! @beh353#beh353
@annekit3 @EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 I found this interesting too! I am a big foodie! And like the example Emma used. If I was told to stop eating chocolate, I would want to eat chocolate! @beh353#beh353
I love the idea of this! I feel like there’s much more nutrition in cultural food than American food. And there’s all different tastes that can suit anyone’s needs. @beh353#beh353
Indigenous foods are nutritious, well-adapted to local climates, and serve an important role in traditional foodways. Learn how to add foraged and Indigenous foods to foods available through USDA’s Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations ➡️ https://t.co/ojhJcSVtku

TY for the video this week! @EmmaDArpinoRD I learned a lot from this course! I learned to always dig deeper than what you see and make sure there is a credible source before relaying the information and that it’s okay to make mistakes! @beh353#beh353
@ShreyaDholakia2@beh353 Healthier options for lunches is a great idea. Growing up I was picky and only ate salads or certain foods, and school lunches were usually pizza, burgers, etc. With a diverse choice of healthy food. Nutritional health can increase! @beh353#beh353
This is beneficial to the general population. Healthy/Organic foods I find to be more expensive than fast food from a restaurant, especially in underrepresented environments. So financial security would be a good aide to advance nutrition. @beh353#beh353
USDA invests $59.4M to improve health & nutrition security across the U.S. This funding will increase access to fresh, affordable produce, especially in underrepresented communities. More: https://t.co/z8FKXjuF9E

This is an article/site I’d refer to a guardian of a child regarding healthy food. This page has recipes that are easy to read for parents and kids to have fun making. Plus it’s a reputable source! @beh353#beh353

I found this very interesting. As I find teaching kids younger on the different foods would be beneficial to their nutrition choices as they get older.Schools should incorporate local farm fresh veggies/fruits in their menus. @beh353#beh353

@gcschools
@SamMontalto2 @beh353 I grew up with parents the same way! To treat everyone how you wanted to be treated no matter their appearance. And in healthcare every patient should be treated the same no matter their weight. @beh353#beh353
Reading the article made me see the difference in health due to weight.Every body is different,no matter the diet or exercise. It’s disgusting seeing how MDs treat pts who struggle with https://t.co/VKGUHZe4N0 should be determined on the individuals Hx not looks. @beh353#beh353
@Ashjez29@beh353 Obesity is a big health concern.Elementary/middle school is where I think fat-shaming occurs. I remember kids who struggled with weight were picked last in gym class as if they “weren’t fast enough”. Kids should be educated early that looks don’t matter! @beh353#beh353
This resource helps with food insecurity and resources for healthy food. I hope this never changes in the future as it’s a great resource for those who struggle financially! @beh353#beh353
The @USDA National School Lunch Program provides healthy and free or low-cost lunches during the school day. Learn about the program and how to participate: https://t.co/RrXsUdcRJE
A fact I learned this week is that obesity can have a consequence of cancer. I never thought of a correlation between the two. I understand excess body fat, but I wonder if it’s related to genetic factors. @beh353#beh353
@Ashjez29@beh353 Yes, as a college student a source of income is hard to acquire with the heavy classes! And most of the healthy food in BOS is pricey and involves lots of prep, that is students lack! @beh353#beh353
This is a source I found that gives tips and tricks on how to eat healthy in affordable ways. I will definitely be using some of these tips to meal prep in the future! @beh353#beh353
As a barrier to healthy eating, I would say lack of time and price affect my eating choices. As I have a heavy courseload, and there’s barely any time to prep food. And the price of healthy groceries or meals at restaurants are expensive. @beh353#beh353
@achen4206@beh353 Wow, I never knew fermented foods could provide different nutrients, especially B12. I feel like there needs to be more knowledge in the general population, on all the ways you can get vitamins through your diet! @beh353#beh353
I find this article very interesting. As I feel like Vitamin D is the most common supplement. I wonder if this would apply to bone disorders. Would this article mean that Vitamin D milk also has no effect? Was “milk makes you stronger” just a fib? @beh353#beh353
