I'm a technology optimist. I’ve spent four decades studying disruptive innovation, from the microprocessor, the internet, mobile phones to OpenAI. I'm certain AI will do 80% of the economically valuable work humans do today, for 80% of all jobs, faster than most believe. The question isn't whether mass underemployment arrives, but whether we have a policy framework ready. Right now we don't.
If you want to be a successful entrepreneur:
You have to literally learn to enjoy getting punched in the face.
It’s not normal. It’s masochistic.
But the journey will be too brutal if you don’t thrive off it.
I'm proud I was able to contribute a tiny bit to the Family Office Navigator by Peter Vogel of IMD - congrats on this piece of work! In particular, entrepreneurs with one or more exits under their belt should have a look (while you consider investing in @strategyzer ... psst... we're raising a small bridge round from entrepreneurs who had an exit or two ;-)
Working out what a family office should look like and how to run it is a source of confusion and overwhelm. Check out Peter Vogel and Mario Marconi's book The Family Office Navigator, a practical guidebook to help family businesses navigate the journey: https://t.co/K0d0cnzVEj
The amount of public company CEOs who are unable to describe their company in a compelling way in 1 minute or less is truly shocking.
Comms teams, this should be your #1 priority.
At most 15% of S&P 500 CEOs have a useful definition/understanding of strategy. So they are not capable of getting good strategy help - whether by hiring strategy staff or 'strategy consultants.'
“Founders are better when their company is not their identity, because it’s not about you.
Our most successful moments were when we were a little detached & can see the bigger picture.”
