🆕 Rodtang Jitmuangnon has withdrawn his allegations that ONE Championship employees forged his signature and issued a sweeping apology to chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong – apparently bringing one of the most bitter disputes in the promotion’s history to an end.
In a lengthy Facebook statement, the Thai superstar said he had been led “down the wrong path” by unnamed people who entered his life after he found fame and money, but had now cut ties with them.
“ONE has always paid me more than the amounts stated in my contracts,” Rodtang wrote.
“Not a single person within ONE forged my signature.”
He also apologised directly to ONE Thailand vice-president and matchmaker Timo Ruge for the “misunderstanding”, before expressing regret to Chatri for any damage caused during their public fallout.
The statement came one week after Rodtang signed a lucrative new contract at Jitmuangnon Gym, following months of lawsuits, accusations and uncertainty over his future.
ONE had sought damages of up to 542 million baht in Thailand over alleged contractual breaches and defamatory statements, while legal action was also launched in Japan and Singapore. Neither side has confirmed whether those cases have been formally withdrawn, although Rodtang’s retraction appears to represent the final stage of their reconciliation.
The 29-year-old is also set to return to training under the direct supervision of Jitmuangnon Gym after conducting much of his recent preparation at Looksaikongdin Gym, the camp owned by his wife’s family, near his home.
His comeback follows a difficult year that included a fifth-round TKO defeat by Takeru Segawa in Tokyo – his first stoppage loss in 13 years.
Rodtang made clear, however, that he still intends to reclaim the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title.
“The world will see Rodtang in the best and strongest version there has ever been,” he said.
“Now, ‘The Iron Man’ – the original Rodtang – is back.”
