We discussed regional recent developments, stressing the importance of good neighbourliness, dialogue, de-escalation, mediation and preventive diplomacy as essential foundations for regional stability.

For the world’s 32 landlocked developing countries – and the more than 600 million people who live in them – overcoming geographical constraints and withstanding shocks are not abstract issues.
They determine whether a farmer can reach a market, a child can learn online, a family can access electricity, or a community can withstand the next crisis.
My vision for the General Assembly’s 81st session includes keeping countries in special situations, like LLDCs, at the centre of our work.
I pledge to do just that.
