Bank employees are on a 3 day strike from Sept 28-30.
I think the 5 day banking demand is fair.
Banking is a tough job with constant pressure and customer handling.
If someone supports working more than five days a week in any sector, then either they’re unemployed and have never actually worked, or they simply don’t understand how work and productivity really work.
I’m @TheOfficialSBI & @canarabank customer and proud of the staff who serve us even beyond working hours. I support the bank strike and stand in solidarity with bankers. Govt & management should engage with employees directly, instead of dragging customers for your politics.
Bank bros, haven't slept . So gudnyt.
Wake up karke,
Evening mei , will raise the bankers demand with more videos.
And explain it to General public.
That why you are going on strike.
And what stupidity these banks are doing by being open on a Sunday.
And Kyu SBI 4 baar MSG kar chuka hai ki is Sunday ko khula hai.
A lot of you have already DMed the info.
See ya in evng.
This strike showed me a side of banking I never expected.
Official bank handles campaigning against their own staff. Employees painted as the enemy of the customers they serve every day.
Then came the silence.
Where were the executives when their people were publicly discredited? Where was anyone questioning an arbitrary PLI scheme?
Speaking against a union is easy. Speaking against employees is easier. Speaking truth to your own institution takes a spine.
Institutional loyalty should never mean surrendering your conscience.
A bank can survive a strike. It should never normalise humiliating its own people.
To fellow bankers: don’t lose your voice just because you wear the same logo. The day employees are afraid to question their own institution is the day it stops having people with a voice and starts having people who only follow orders.
That is a far more dangerous failure than any strike.

Banks are doing strike from Monday to demand 5 days work week, so they're asked to work on Sunday.
Classic display of toxic work culture and why their strike is justified.
Banks are not just buildings or branches. They work because thousands of people show up every day and keep things moving for millions of us.
The five day working week has been a long standing demand of bank employees. I hope this is heard and discussed seriously, and that there is a way forward.
To everyone working in our banks every day, thank you. A lot of what you do goes unnoticed, but it matters. I stand with you.

Banks using their own official Social Media handles to campaign against their own employees.
Employees being portrayed as if they are the enemy of the very customers they serve every single day.
And then came the silence.
I searched for voices from the top.
Where were the executives when their own people were being publicly discredited?
Where was the outrage when employees were reduced to a convenient villain?
Where was the voice questioning an arbitrary PLI scheme?
Silence. Complete silence.
Because speaking against a union is easy.
Speaking against your own employees is even easier.
But speaking truth to your own institution?
That takes a spine.
It takes courage to say “This is wrong” when the wrong is being done by the organisation that signs your pay cheque.
It takes integrity to stand up when standing up can cost you comfort, proximity, privileges or a designation.
Institutional loyalty should never mean surrendering your conscience.
A bank can survive a strike.
It can survive criticism.
It can survive disagreement.
What it should never normalise is the humiliation of its own people.
To my fellow bankers:
Don’t lose your voice merely because you wear the same logo.
Because the day employees become afraid to question their own institution is the day an institution stops having employees with a voice and starts having people who merely follow orders.
And that is a far more dangerous failure than any strike.

🚨 India Has 60 Crore Jan Dhan Bank Accounts
45 Crore are Serviced By Govt/Public Banks
Private Banks Handle Only 2.26 Crore Accounts
They Don't Want Poor or Zero Balance A/Cs
Pressure is Real on Public Sector Bank Employees
Don't Think Asking 5 Day Workweek in Unfair
It’s easy to judge until you step into a branch. Bankers routinely work 10–12 hour days, handle immense stress, strict compliance, financial liability, and zero work-life balance without overtime pay. Asking for a 5-day workweek like almost every other corporate sector, IT firm, RBI, and international bank isn't "laziness"—it's a basic standard for mental health and efficiency.
Public convenience matters, but so does the well-being of the people safeguarding your money.
As a PNB customer I am indebted to your staff. They have gone beyond duty for years. The customer–banker bond is real.
Your mass message blaming them for disruption is pure betrayal. There is no institution without the men and women who make it.
Settle with your people. Do not use customers against them.

Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.
