Very proud of my wife, Dr. Halah, a rising star in CT surgery, for her publication in Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery @AATSJournals. Excellent work by our research team lead by superstar Dr @allawy98
Can lowering heart rate after heart transplantation improve long-term graft remodeling, even if survival remains unchanged?
A new systematic review & meta-analysis of 852 heart transplant recipients found that ivabradine significantly reduced heart rate and was associated with lower left ventricular mass index, while showing no significant differences in mortality, graft rejection, ejection fraction, or blood pressure compared with standard care. These findings support ivabradine as a well-tolerated option, particularly for patients who cannot tolerate β-blockers. How do you see ivabradine fitting into post-transplant management? Pleased to share our new @JICE_EP meta-analysis on AF ablation in elderly patients.
Elderly patients had higher AF recurrence and adverse outcomes, highlighting the need for individualized care.
Grateful to all mentors and co-authors @HaiderTaii@DrMarwanRefaat@AhmedAminMD
