Yesterday we happened to address the media teams @DailyMonitor and @ntvuganda elaborating more on what we refer to the unfair and unjust polices that were issued by #UHPAB. We have written to various bodies responsible hoping for an immediate intervention #RejectUHPABpolicy
@SpireJim@GodwinTOKO@KampalaInterna1 As we look deep into the evidence for justice of all that have been affected by KIU....we also bring this to ua attention. We petitioned parliament to review new unjust UHPAB policies that is threatening futures of many Allied Health Students..
Allied health students in Uganda are staging protests against the recently enforced Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council assessment policy, calling it “unfair” and particularly rejecting the zero-retake provision that prevents them from re-sitting failed exams.

The newly formed UGANDA HEALTH PROFESSIONS ASSESSMENT BOARD (UHPAB) is threatening the future of thousands of health students. We well know that students are the major stake holders in any education setting
Today marks yet another turning point driven by decisions I can’t help but question. The implementation of this newly formed policy has left many of students confused, disappointed and deeply concerned about the direction things are heading .
Policies are meant to foster growth, inclusivity and progress.
Yet, this latest move does the exact opposite it alienates those who should be uplifted and undermines the trust that communities place in their leaders .
When decisions are made without transparent dialogue or participation from those most affected, everyone loses.
Policies built without transparent consultation erode trust in institutions. By ignoring stakeholder input and the realities students face, UHPAB risks alienating the very community it serves.
If mass dropouts or demotivation follow, Uganda’s health sector will feel the impact for years to come .
This sweeping change threatens not only academic mobility but also the mental wellbeing of students.
The looming possibility of repeating an entire semester due to a solitary retake is driving up stress, anxiety and even depression among Uganda’s next generation of health workers.
Families already stretched thin face the added burden of extra tuition and loss of investment, putting education further out of reach for many .
With this in mind, I join fellow students, parents and concerned citizens in urging @Parliament_Ug intervene immediately.
Suspend the "Zero-Retake" policy, restore common sense academic standards and demand that UHPAB consult publicly before making future changes.
The future of Uganda’s healthcare system and the hopes of countless trainees depend on compassionate and fair governance.
Let’s speak up 🗣️, share our stories and demand a change that reflects the values of education, equity and hope. #StopZeroRetake #ProtectUgandaStudents #EducationForAll
