I'm growing this account from 1 follower, in public.
No ads, no giveaways. Just useful posts on getting your first customers and keeping them, plus the real numbers every week.
If you're a founder or freelancer trying to land your first 10 paying people, follow along.
@ronakrahane Skip daily. One post a week with a single number that moved and what you tried is easier to keep up and way more fun to read. Consistency is just a schedule you can actually hold.
@sparrowbrainz Smart to make read-only the default. I'd go one step further: run it on a read replica with a DB user that only has SELECT grants. Then the guardrail isn't just your prompt, the database itself says no.
Stop reporting follower count first. A client paying you monthly cares about clicks, leads and DMs. Lead with the number closest to money, even if it's small.
@Bhoomi1021 9 users on day 1 is a solid start. I'd message all 9 personally this week and ask one question: what were you using before this? Their answers usually tell you where to find the next 90.
@TheElsobky Fair call early on. One thing I'd add: tell the first buyers it's a founding price and it goes up after the first 20. Gives people a reason to act now and keeps you from being stuck at the low price forever.
@utsavpm 22 trials and 0 paid is actually a useful signal. I'd get on a 10 min call with the 5 most active trial users and ask what almost made them pay. Then run WarmDogo on your own ICP and DM those leads by hand. Eat your own dog food, literally.
Clients don't read reports. They read the first slide. So put 3 things there: what went up, what went down, what we do next month. Everything else is appendix.
I built a monthly report kit around that idea. Link in bio.
Your first 10 users won't come from a launch. They come from 10 DMs to people who complained about the problem in public last week. Search the complaint, not the category.
Stuck finding your first users? Paste this into any AI:
"List 10 places online where [customer] complains about [problem]. For each, show one real post and how I could help."
Then go reply helpfully. Where do your customers hang out?
I spent weeks writing down exactly how to get your first 100 users without ads or an audience.
30 days, one small task a day. 20 message templates, 38 AI prompts, a tracker. Free tools only.
It's called the First 100 Users Kit. Link in bio.
@Dan_Israel1 Been there. The 6 months aren't wasted if you keep one rule next time: talk to 10 people with the problem before touching code. If 3 ask 'can I use it now', build. If none do, you just saved 6 months.
@ronchumaceiro Couples argue about money on Reddit every day. r/personalfinance and r/relationship_advice are full of 'my partner and I can't agree on a budget' posts. Reply helpfully to 10 this week, no link. Your first users are there.
@OliverBugar@MarkoCirix 16 downloads in 2 weeks is a start, not a fail. If you can reach any of them, ask what made them download and what almost stopped them. Their exact words become your next store description and your next 50 targets.
@RSytkiv Coaches post client progress on Instagram every day, so they're easy to find. Pick 30 with 1k to 10k followers, DM 5 a day asking how they track workouts now, and offer to set PORYV up for the first 5 yourself.
@codebyjorge Parents aren't on dev Twitter, they're in school WhatsApp groups, local parent Facebook groups and r/Parenting. I'd ask 10 parents you already know to use TickTod for a week first. At 0 users, offline beats online.
@XTeamPal Launch sites mostly send you other founders, not buyers. I'd skip the next directory, find 20 people who complained this month about the problem superii solves, and message 5 a day. Launches work better after 10 users.
The landing page formula that converts:
1. The pain, in their words
2. The outcome they want
3. One proof point
4. One clear next step
Most pages skip #1. Which one does yours miss?
Your first 10 users won't come from a launch.
They'll come from 10 real conversations.
Find 10 people with the problem. Ask how they handle it today. Listen. Help.
What was your first user's story?
