@chinedu_10 Maybe it's just me, but I don't think these games have much staying power. People are just checking them out, but I'm not sure they're sticking around. I think making games is more than that.
@seewhy9@wearegst Bolt still being in Nigeria doesn’t mean it hasn’t been affected. Bolt itself challenged FIRS over VAT obligations and lost.
So “they’re still operating, therefore they weren’t affected” is just an assumption.

@seewhy9@wearegst Stay on the subject. The video is about why Uber left Nigeria, and I’m saying it aligns with your screenshot.
Comparing it with other apps isn’t relevant here. They may be facing similar issues, but that’s not the topic of discussion.
@_CodeNerd_@Benn_X1 Question to you, do you think we have an Andrew C. in Nigeria? The Western system also has structures like electricity, food banks, and free internet that cushion the effect of learning. Think again when it comes to Africa.
@_CodeNerd_@Benn_X1 You can do what you can, but since you're not in a position of power, you're just spinning your wheels trying to enforce something you can't. You could in your own circle, but not on a mass scale. Basically, you don't have the power to influence in a large scale.
@_CodeNerd_@Benn_X1 I'm not disagreeing with you, but leadership also means enabling change. I don't think this government is doing that. They're frustrating people and not helping with policies. It takes a whole lot to fight against that.
Sam Altman after casually pulling a million active users a day:
“More Texans use ChatGPT for free than the entire US uses Claude. We have a differently-shaped problem.
Anyway, ignore that Claude just reset the limits again and extended Fable 5 for the 999th time. Not watching. Not refreshing.”
@Babajiide@optixbaba I've learned a lot from your comments in the past. I won't say pick and choose who you reply to, but just ignore the difficult ones.
@tokunbo_wahab@Simplytrendd@tundefashola@AkinwunmiAmbode Sounds like you don't have a plan. You should probably go over your plan again, talk about its flaws, and maybe what you're going to do to fix those issues. We know the population's growing, but what's your move?
@Babajiide@jony222jony@blaccmajek This makes sense overall. I think the only thing to clarify is that at 22%, 1B would generate about 220M per year, not 1B every 6 mnths. The Rule of 72 works best when the returns are reinvested, so the doubling estimate assumes compounding. The general idea is still right though
@IamAroke There's a rule of thumb (5 indexes per table): you index high cardinality columns only and stay away from hot columns, and you really need to think about how indexes are created. It's just a separate 8k page. For every upsert, if it's properly done, it shouldnt slow down inserts.
@Bukaton@thekenndubisi Maybe I’m struggling to understand, but what do you mean by 'doing someone a favour'? How does real-life experience translate into this?
@_manlikeicon Lol, culture, politeness, and an excessive emphasis on respect are doing a lot of disservice to growth. He didn’t do anything wrong here.
